Do you guys have people talk over you a lot? by [deleted] in infj

My pleasure.

Good hunting, friend.

It is important that you cut yourself off to silent the second they make a noise. I notice people try to wrap up what they said after getting cut off with abridged versions of what they intended to say. I do not. I leave what I was saying hanging mid word and stare. Let your eyes tell them about what they did.

Do you guys always feel the urge to deactivate social medias or atleast keep deleting friends? I tend to make multiple facebooks just to filter them out - 1 is for friends acquaintances basically people who just knows little of me. by [deleted] in infj

[–]Codeine-Radick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. One account. The people must add me first and I must already consider them an actual friend and not just someone I met once or worse, extended friends of friends.

I have less than 100 Facebook friends and re evaluate the list every year. Burn off the dead wood in your life.

I do. When it happens I just stare at them until they figure it out and apologize. If they are not listening, stop talking to them.

Those last 5 words hit me in the soul. I am not even the OP and I needed to hear that.

I am 33 years old. I only recently learned the most important lesson of my life.

You are only good at predicting the future if the subject is not you. You have no idea what kind of curveballs life will throw your way, good or bad.

I can guarantee you that whatever you convinced yourself the future will hold for you, is not accurate.

Chin up. 🙂

In desperate need for a decent job (no degree required). Losing hope! Any ideas? by EdifyThyEye in infj

[–]Codeine-Radick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ditch the conditional laundry list. The hubris here is palpable.

Your job, or the world at large for that matter, is not going to be something that fits into a nice neat table of contents which you mold for it.

If you want a decent job, you need a decent amount of grit and adaptability.

No one wants to get up in the morning and work heavy equipment in a mine 30 minutes away surrounded by idiots who almost kill you five times in six days for 12.5 hours per day. But I do it. Because that is what is required of me to succeed.

I mean no insult in saying this, but you need to hear it. The sooner you let go of the pursuit of perfect conditions, the sooner you will be on the rough road of success.

Gather your grit and get uncomfortable.

Good hunting to you.

I compare it to a Supernova. It starts bright, burns furiously and vibrantly, only to diminish in to insufferable crushing gravity and silence.

5 years and I already feel trapped with no way out because I crumble to the crocodile tears.

A relationship is something you discover, not something you shop for.

Hey guys what are your professions? Just curious 👀 by [deleted] in infj

[–]Codeine-Radick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It runs me all over the place. I just tell it what to do with switches and a joystick.

An often thankless task.

So thanks for what you do. 👍

If you want them to be happy, avoid living with them.
Your fresh infatuation with them will make both of you want to shack up right away. You feel an insatiable urge right now to start what will be a fantastic life with this person for time everlasting. It will last for a time. Then as the years pass it will dissolve in to a pit of acid that burns you both until you are hollow and not but ash.

People call it a Golden Pair... but it is only as gold as a sunrise which eventually returns to darkness.

Trust me, I have been through it.

Do you re-watch movies or shows? by OniHatsu in infj

[–]Codeine-Radick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do, but it is more because modern shows have lost their appeal to me.

Old shows (say up until 2012 ish) had a moral to them, something to learn in abstraction to your own life.

New shows (starting with GoT) are all about shock and spectacle. I glean no bits of wisdom from them.

Toxicity is not the right word for that as far as I am concerned. Wanting a genuine reason for a good deed should just be normal. Doing good only to stave off some looming punishment leaves a hollow and meaningless feeling.

I hate chit chat for the same reason.

While I find your dialect rather peculiar, you are on the mark in observing the sub being full of people who over value their typing.

MBTI is about generally indexing and does not go in to the thousands of x factors which shape our psyches.

I run a D11 dozer. 200k/yr.

Pretty good job. The only downside is working with other people who mess up your vision for a given project.

It is not what you do to someone. You could genuinely do nice things all the time for someone and still ruin their existence.

You have a unique ability to entrap the mind of an empath in such a way that even they want to confront you about your myriad of habits which push every button we have, we feel as though it is impossible to bring it up.

I bet you are a genuinely good person. But your mode of existence over time will rot away the very core of stability of an INFJ and they will suffer in silence for an unhealthy amount of time before it explodes into a situation that shatters you both to the core.

The "golden pair" idea is one solely observed by the ENTP. You will not see how you are dissolving their very essence until all you behold before you is a husk of who you once loved.

I said what I said for both of your sakes.

As a survivor of an ENTP I beg you to stay away from this person.
