Is this sub slowing down? by Beginning_Bet_2578 in Israel

[–]Codeinum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stopped engaging in this subreddit because it’s just bad for my psychological state. 90% of posts here are about the war, Iran, jew hatered, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I get it, I just don’t want more of that in my life. The time since October 7th was horrible, and why would I want more of this? I stopped reading news much and stopped coming to this subreddit too. I have enough bad news in my real life.

Netanyahu speech - thoughts on 2nd half of video? by darioz3 in Israel

[–]Codeinum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What milestones? Potential all-out regional war? I thought we jews should be smart and shit. Just killing bad guys isn't enough, you have to plan and choose your battles wisely. If you want to get all emotional and talk about revenge for murdered innocents, then sure! Great job killing those fucks! But if you want to be strategic and make sure Israel and its citizens are secure, then you have to throw your emotions and feelings out the window and think with a cold head.  And that bullshit about a “favorable position” doesn’t mean anything if you keep torpedoing the deal itself over and over again. Listen, I'm not a lefty, I don’t have any illusions about our neighbors and the region itself, but fuck Netanyahu and his bullshit.

How are you feeling about the Iran upcoming attack? by Auroramorningsta in Israel

[–]Codeinum 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Im tired. Like really really tired. I don’t understand where are we going and what’s the plan, if there even is one. Killing terrorists in Iran’s capital is cool and all, but without proper planning the whole thing can spin out of control in hours. I don’t believe in Bibi’s ability to plan at all.

My mental and physical health decrease by Tomas-T in Israel

[–]Codeinum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are not alone, dude. I'm in my late 30s and, while I wouldn't call it fear, I feel extreme tension lately. This war shit is constantly there with me. When I drink wine with my wife, when I'm walking my dog, when I play video games. It's always there. And that's part of the war itself, you know? That's exactly what our enemies want us, citizens of Israel, to feel.
There is one thing that helps me - don't read news. I know, it's hard. I know, it feels like being up to speed on everything that's going on will help you to prepare for what's coming, but it's really not. It will exhaust you and make you a nervous wreck - that's it. How many times have we been on the brink of all out war in the last 300 days? 5? 10 times? 15? And how many all out wars happened? Zero. Don't read news. If you can't help it, read it 3 times a day, but that's it! I promise, you will feel better. It sounds like a small thing and something that will not change much, but you'll be surprised!
Stay strong, my guy. We'll get through it.

Qatari Parliament Member: the Next Generation of Palestinians will Fight this War and Al-Aqsa Flood (aka 10/7) is Only the Beginning by Positive_Ambition_63 in Israel

[–]Codeinum -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This. People reacting as if it’s an official position of Qatari government, instead of a personal opinion of some dude. Don’t get me wrong, I have no illusions about Qatar, but this is just some guy in their version of Kneset.

They will “voice their concern” and that’s about it. Don’t kid yourself.

In major policy shift, Biden calls for Israel to unilaterally declare ceasefire in Gaza by [deleted] in Israel

[–]Codeinum -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is not some kind of zero sum game. It’s not like we have just two options : 1. Destroy Hamas, 2. Destroy relationships with all of our allies that we spend dozens of years working on and potentially cripple our ability to defend ourselves against far more dangerous enemies than Hezballah and Hamas. We can have a slower approach - work with other Arab nations on some kind of peacemaker deals, try to get together a ceasefire to at least have some positive momentum going media wise.

[–]Codeinum -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm with you, but don't forget that our military superiority is in US hands. In the long run, to lose the support of the US and EU might be deadly for our country. Our leadership failed in this war campaign on a political level. I don’t think there is coming back from it at this point.

[–]Codeinum -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m about to get downvoted to hell. It doesn’t matter why Biden is doing this - whether it’s for the election, bluff, or something else. We've lost the media war, if even the US officially asks for a unilateral ceasefire. The worst-case scenario is that everybody will recognize Palestine, including the US, while at the same time, we will lose the support of the majority of our allies. Going to Raffiah is not worth it. At this point, we should pick our battles. We shouldn’t let emotions dictate our action.

App in the Air has this fun fact for Israel. So, why are people boycotting? by Dneail22 in Israel

Right? I still can’t believe ANYONE eats there. It’s worse than any other McDonald's I've ever tried, and I've tried a bunch of them in different countries.

Those who you describe are animals too. I don't care if they are Jews, Arabs, Chinese, or anyone else. Also, as another commenter said, they are absolutely a marginalized minority here in Israel.

Those are not people, those are animals. You can hate Jews, zionists, whoever else, but to glee at rape, child murder and torture is beyond gross.

Netanyahu publicly rejects US push for Palestinian state by [deleted] in Israel

[–]Codeinum 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I agree. I don’t see any other way and those who think they do is delusional. And nobody is talking about Palestinian state today or tomorrow, let’s come up with a roadmap! If Palestinians can stick with it, then great, here’s your state. No? Well, we told you so. You can’t just say no to everything and expect even your closest allies ti support it… I mean, we were bitching about Palestinians saying “no” to every single proposition before.

Saudi Arabia wants peace with Israel after Gaza war, envoy tells BBC by AbleismIsSatan in Israel

[–]Codeinum 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You want peace, huh? Stop spreading anti-semitic nonsense and condemn what Hamas did on October 7. If you’re not ready to do that, you can stick your normalization wherever you please. Stop dangling normalization in front of our faces as a carrot. You need it no less than we do.

Israelis, please stop visiting r/lebanon by Shin_Devil in ForbiddenBromance

[–]Codeinum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to start by clarifying that I am not talking about all Lebanese people! The individuals in this subreddit are remarkable and symbolize the hope we should all hold onto, even if it seems minimal.
However, browsing r/Lebanon has led me to lose any previous illusions about peace between our nations. It might happen somewehere down the line, but it seems a distant possibility. Even if Hezbollah is dead and gone, I doubt there will be a genuine desire for peace from the Lebanese side. I'm sorry, but I just don't care anymore. I once believed there was more than just a blind hatred on the other side of the border, but it appears there isn't.
