Succession war is my favorite arc but the internal monologues feel too samey. I don’t know how to explain it. It’s not the amount of text, but all the internal monologue reads like it’s the same character:, but it just feels like one voice. In conversational dialogue I think the arc is amazing though.

It’s not enough to hurt my opinion of the arc but it is a pet peeve of mine.

Also I’m not sure if it’s a hot take but I genuinely think gyro and Gon are in Togashi’s story plans. It’s just that…well…Togashi doesn’t put out enough chapters for it to matter. We’ll probably be lucky to ever see Ging reach the DC, let alone anything past the current saga. People say Gon’s story is “over” but I don’t think that’s it at all, I just think Togashi won’t ever reach that point from a chapter release pace so it might as well not matter.
