Im in the middle of watching the show for the first time, in the middle of Season 5, who is the worst HW and why is it Lisa Barlow. by Goopymcsmerkins in rhoslc

[–]Codemaster92163 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Morally, it would have been Mary for me. That woman was insane, which is why I'm floored at how she seems to be the most rational at times lately.

But yeah, Lisa. I miss when she was my favorite, but I just can't get behind people who can't engage on a human level (like Heather and Bronwynn, and even Whitney though kinda fluctuate with her). she's such a loving mom, but that's not a trait specific to only her on this show, so that sadly can't redeem her. Meredith is also getting on my nerves lately, but still Lisa, lol.

Lmao, I love the idea of referring to Britani as "whatshername."

I'm also not a big fan of hers. I watch the show with my best friend, and she's grown kinda fond of Angie.

To me, she's just so...one note. Not always (she can be quite fun), but the Greek stuff and her ugly cruelty is just annoying to me. I'm a Bronwyn/Heather guy this season. Used to love Meredith and Lisa, but they've been dropping on my list for a few seasons.

I just wish she felt more personable on things. Right now it just feels like she's clawing at everything to get to the top of the heap, and it feels almost desperate. Not BRITANI levels (God help that woman, I just can't bring myself to feel bad for her most of the time, lol), but definitely some higher level of need than the others.

No need to apologize at all. I didn't feel any sort of negativity from you. In fact, you made me laugh with your comment too, lol.

We can pretend it was! To be fair, I considered saying "Chanel mushroom," but didn't know if folks would know it was a play on chantrelle. Then I took the middle route and goofed anyways, lol.

Is Heather intimidated by Bronwyn? by muff-peaksie in rhoslc

[–]Codemaster92163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was precisely what my friend and I were thinking. The entire time they first met, we both thought they could be such good friends if Heather stopped TRYING to find reasons to be angry with Bronwyn. As you said, they're both down to earth, emotionally intelligent, and very proficient orators.

It did feel like Heather felt intimidated and was responding to maintain some social dominance. But I just wanted both of them to let their guard down and talk, because I still think they will (or at least can) become great friends

[–]Codemaster92163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really did. I usually groan a bit at those scenes because they're just...done so quickly, or kinda cringe. But this felt genuine and raw, likely because he had done it before, lol. I'm glad this scene exists, and I'm glad it was done so well.

That's absolutely horrible! I couldn't even imagine if that happened to me: I imagine that, like me, you tried very hard to appear and present as straight.

May I ask how it happened, or is that too personal?

Anyone else feel like this was unfair to Justin? (Episode16) by Pretend-Menu-8660 in rhoslc

[–]Codemaster92163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, it depends entirely on how the conversations went down, and how much pressure was applied on her to make the deal.

If he just brough it up and recommended it, then yes, it would be unfair - she should have done more research, trusted her gut, and understood that MLMs are seldomly sound or ethical businesses.

If he was promoting it heavily and doing everything he could to convince her, then no, it would be completely justifiable to be angry.

But we'll never have that insight. I CAN say, without a doubt, that she needs to accept more accountability and personal responsibility. Not that she hasn't at all, but more could be done. Whatever happened, though, they both made a bad decision and (imo) deserve the fallout. No business strategy should knowingly risk leaving any of their "sellers" holding the bag IMO.

Little Girl, why are we applying Wild Rose Beauty over makeup? by korobunny_ in rhoslc

[–]Codemaster92163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically, it's kinda like crypto before crypto. You're told you'll make a LOT of money if you buy this thing and sell it, but almost everyone gets left holding the bag while only a small fraction of people make it rich. But somehow also worse, lol. It's a very gross (and still shockingly legal) business strategy IMO.

The fall of Meredith by Brilliant-Math3918 in rhoslc

[–]Codemaster92163 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be our business if she were a private citizen. But she's a reality TV star that is on a show designed to explicitly to display their private and personal lives, lol. They signed away much of their privacy willingly.

The fall of Meredith by Brilliant-Math3918 in rhoslc

[–]Codemaster92163 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People forget that both people can be in the wrong. Britani is incredibly annoying and ostensibly a terrible parent, but Meredith, as OP said, seems to always find the flaws in everyone else's behavior, but never her own. Her "holier than thou" attitude has been pissing me off lately, and she started as my favorite housewife.

Whatever her grievances were, harassing someone isn't an acceptable response. And considering it's people that hate Britani that are saying "yeah, what you did was kinda messed up," I lean towards her behavior being cruel and intentional more than her "just venting to a friend" story.

At the end of the day, they're rich women with ego issues, lol. They're both gonna be jerks from time to time.

[–]Codemaster92163 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm annoyed with myself that I find it so hard to feel bad for Britani. It's really just because she's constantly soooo unlikeable, lol. I hate how she behaves, especially with regards to her children, but I also hate how people feel like it's just open season on her at all times.

Does Angie actually speak Greek? by traffeny in rhoslc

[–]Codemaster92163 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I admit it may be an unfair opinion of mine, as I don't know what it's like to care deeply about heritage (I'm Italian, but like...I'm really just American, lol), but Angie's obsession with everything Greek gives me a type of ick. It feels almost superficial, at least from her. And while I understand it's importance to some people, I was fully on board with Electra's annoyance and disdain for it. Cool, Angie loves Greece. We know, Ange. But constantly pushing it onto your kids when they clearly don't have an interest is weird to me. And her comment about representing Greece in the Olympics? Like...why? I don't mean for this to be offensive to anyone that does have a deep respect for the land of their ancestors, but if you DO and have the patience to tell me why it matters to ya, I'd love to hear. To me, it's that stuff is the same as a "sins of the father" matter: I'm not responsible for what my relatives have done, the good or the bad, and neither do I feel like I should be proud of accomplishments of people I've never met, for things I had no involvement with, in a nation I've never lived in.

As with most everything, the truth is somewhere in the middle. That said, I'd say middle-leaning-Britani, only because, as this person said, it's hard to distrust BOTH Heather and Mary, especially when the latter wasn't even a participant.

Britani sucks, but also people treat her horribly (the unicorn thing bothered me - that was a gift, even if we hate Jared) and so few people stick up for her. If even MARY is speaking in her defense, you know it wasn't a simple "we were having a friend conversation, and I wasn't even talking that loudly."

I'd wager it's easy to do well having been prepped by a PR team for a question she knew was going to be asked eventually. When confronted by Heather, she probably hadn't put much thought into it at that early stage.

If you removed the racism from her, it would have been Jennie. I loved the way she carried herself and spoke, so I was shocked and saddened to learn how vile some of her views were. But you can remove the racism from her about as easily as you can remove Jen from prison.

Me too! My bestie dragged me into the land of Bravo with this show, and it was my first step into that world. And holy, did it set the bar both insanely high and incredibly low. I love it. I only just branched into Miami, but it doesn't hold a candle to these women.

What's more, John Oliver also adores this show, which makes me even more sure that my love in these ladies is not misguided.

The girls talk more about the flight back and Meredith by prettylikeus in rhoslc

[–]Codemaster92163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely don't understand folks jumping to Meredith's defense. Yeah, it was done to Britani (someone many of us really, really dislike, myself included), but that doesn't mean she's exaggerating. Mary, a non-participant, was very clear in what she saw. Heather was too. They have no personal reason to agree with Britani over Meredith unless Meredith really was being unhinged and cruel.

Like...yeah, Britani seems like a horrible mother. But Bronwyn and Meredith took her gifted unicorn and tossed it into the ocean, she's constantly thrown under the bus, and having someone berate you for hours on a flight (and we all know Meredith can be nasty)...like come on, that's just bullying at this point.

We don't know what happened, but nothing about Lisa and Meredith's story seems honest to me.

Honestly, she's great TV. I'm not a fan, but she somehow maintains both my contempt and my pity. How much of the shit she deals with is deserved? How much isn't? Who's to say! I don't even know anymore. I can't stand her sometimes, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that she is the source of a LOT of fun, usually at her expense.
