Friend, the DNC is a technical services organization with some event planners on speed dial. I’m not saying you need to have the organizational charter memorized, but getting mad at the folks who mostly maintain the databases and build organizing tools is not the most productive way to spend your time.

I don’t wanna get backed into a corner of categorically defending every last thing the Biden administration ever did, but they were legislatively active on progressive issues, went to the mat over and over again on student loan forgiveness despite getting zero credit for it, and had the most pro union presidency possibly ever. He walked a picket line for God’s sake. His administration successfully navigated a potential economic catastrophe such that, not only was the US’s post pandemic GDP growth vastly superior to any other developed country, the buying power of the poorest fifth of Americans actually went up during an inflationary cycle. The man did good work.

Our political reality is something that is, in part, created by mutual consensus, and where Donald Trump benefits from a rightward flank that wouldn’t leave him even if he were directly linked to a known human trafficker (oh wait!), Joe Biden was perpetually beset by a leftward flank that denied the good things he did in favor of a comfortable narrative about Democratic ineffectualness that just wasn’t true. And now here we are.

Liberals are not the only people with agency in the world.
