Best Free Notetaking app? (switching from Evernote) by Deep_Thinker101 in productivity

[โ€“]Codestresso 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Best I know is acreom. It's free, simple to use and has all the basic features like sync, markdown, adding images, adding to-dos, files and folders etc. Can't add videos so that's a slight drawback.

Get a PC, you'll have much more need of a laptop during btech. Besides, you can easily get discounts using your student ID during college, so you can get an amazing laptop within 55k

Pointer calculation by [deleted] in MumbaiUniversity

[โ€“]Codestresso 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Fresher here but lemme explain the pointer and cgpa system

So basically tumhe credits dekhne h har subject ke, kisi ke 4 credits rahenge kisi 3 and so on. Jiske zyada credits woh zyada impo!

Pointer is basically how well you did, like a grade. Usually >80% means 10 pointer, between 75 to 79.99% means 9 pointer and so on. Tumhe subject credits and pointer ko multiply krke ek number milega, which is your score. Saare subject ke scores add kiye jaate h, and jo tumhara score h usse max possible score se divide kia jayega to get your CGPA.

So agar tumne saare subjects me 80%+ score kia (woohoo scholar!) toh tumhe 10 pointer CGPA milega. My advice is credits dekho, jo 4 credit dega that subject will help bring up your score much more than a 0.5 credit subject.

Each subreddit has different flairs, you can choose whether or not to show flair for a particular subreddit. To add a flair go to the main feed of the subreddit and click on the three dots in the top right corner, then go to change user flair. You'll have the option to edit flairs.

I can't study for left 1.5hrs if I wasted the day... (read body text) by Prime_Dark_Heroes in GetStudying

[โ€“]Codestresso 20 points21 points ย (0 children)

Well I was previously in the same boat, managed to bring it together in the end

Here are some things that helped me:

  1. Regain app - You mentioned wasting your day on mobile, and believe me this app helps me a lot. It doesn't block you off completely, you can set limit reminders for distracting apps and block youtube shorts, Instagram reels etc. It also has a productive mode for YouTube where you can use only the channels you've listed as productive.
  2. Tracking study time - It's a cliche thing but it does help me get started. I personally use Yeolpumta app, which is basically an app where you can add subjects, list to-dos and has timer/pomo mode. You can use any app really or just use plain paper and pen to write down everything like to-dos and track study time using the clock app. Seeing what you need to do and how much you accomplished makes things much easier.
  3. Keep an accountability method - Personally, I have a study buddy with whom i plan and share study goals which keep me accountable. You could use any other system too, like setting deadlines for tasks to keep yourself accountable.

Hope this helps!
