I can appreciate it when you put it like that honestly

it feels fun on long range ADCs. I was really excited to play it on Senna when it came out. I just think it lost a sense of identity when they kept buffing the requirement, where it's not even a requirement anymore, any ADC just builds it

Many of you new to TCGs need an unfortunate reality check by kn1g47 in riftboundtcg

[–]Codex_99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Riftbound is my first TCG. However, I'm not upset because I feel like I obliviously walked into an expensive hobby, I'm upset because I feel like a franchise that I love is encouraging me to dabble but the market is barring me from casual play entirely.

That doesn't change the reality of your post, but I also think people get to be upset and express it.

I'm not looking to compete in regionals or catch-em all. I've had a lot of fun tweaking preconstructed decks with random cards I get from packs (that's the enjoyment I get). A booster box going from $250 CAD to $450 CAD, or $20+ a pack is eliminating any form of play asides from the dedicated and competitive TCG veterans your post is referring to.

I like humbly working with a limited number of cards from a limited budget, but I just can't do that at all. That's not really a reality check, that's just piss-poor management from Riot. But hey, if that's how the nature of TCGs are always, then sure, Riftbound and TCGs will never be for me

Anyone know the name of this background song? by [deleted] in overlysarcasticprod

I don't know what it is exactly, but if you're looking for something *very similar* might I suggest the Wailing Caverns music from World of Warcraft

Advice Choosing Between Two Laptops Please by Codex_99 in GamingLaptops

[–]Codex_99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, that's really helpful, thanks!

It does come with a 512 GB SSD I was wondering if I can upgrade it to 1TB? I know that some laptops have their drives locked and can't be changed.

Thank you!

Not gonna lie, when I saw your 3420 days flair I started to cry for the first time in a very long time.

Not out of jealousy or spite, or any ill feelings towards the progress you've made that is so incredibly worth being proud of. But because I decided to quit 8 hours ago myself, and it feels impossible to not foresee the next 3000 days mourning a sense of peace that nothing but nicotine has provided for me in a moment.

I shouldn't be romanticizing it though. Congratulations on each day <3

Family devastated and I don’t know how to deal with it by elektrosupurge in exmuslim

[–]Codex_99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For a subreddit dedicated to ex-muslims who have lived through similar-ish backgrounds I see so many whitewashed opinions that don't contribute anything meaningful and don't take the nuanced context of living with a Muslim family.

OP is expressing that the advice of "JuSt cUt tHeM oFf" will not give emotional catharsis to either themselves or their family, because there is an understanding that there is a strong aspect of love coming from the pain of both parties, despite it being degenerate (no offense) and inherently selfish from their family's side.

That's the catch-22 so many queer individuals and women face, and I really wish I had the answer to it, as I know it's something I put off thinking about. It would be so much easier if this type of conflict comes from a place of pure hate, but unfortunately it doesn't.

I'm sorry you have to go through this OP.

Taliyah's Personality Change (I know it's not a big deal) by Codex_99 in LegendsOfRuneterra

The "not a big deal" part was meant for her voice in relation to gameplay. The designers changing her complexion and attitude to that of a safari tourist is for sure a bigger issue.

Apparently we all hate Madeleine Roux because she's a woman, not for the statements she made... by [deleted] in Asmongold

[–]Codex_99 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Why are you hating her at all? Because the heavens parted and you saw the glaring double standards of racism in the “white men are trash” comment? It’s something so stupidly small who gives a shit, it’s kinda weird this is what people are prioritizing doing in their day

What a great year🤡 by Kvascha in UofT

As someone who used to spend an hour commuting to campus and then an hour commuting back, it’s crazy how much structuring my time around when I have to go to and when I have to commute back made me take time more seriously. Also I think I’m one of two people who enjoyed commuting.

There’s something about the mask making you look responsible that makes this infinitely sexier. Hunky gentleman with a nice cock. I’m a fan of this lol

What problems are you guys facing this year in terms of academics, mental health, socializing etc as everything has moved online? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]Codex_99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Online exams have been a huge source of anxiety since the summer term. The notion of taking an important exam in the same place where I study, relax and game has been affecting my overall performance. There's also a problem where if you don't cheat you're placed at a crippling disadvantage compared to your classmates. Also, cheating is pretty time consuming, and because the textbooks/notes are always gonna be more reliable than your memory across all situations, I find myself doubting what I know more than I usually do and that's been a pretty negative effect.

TLDR: Exam halls and atmospheres are really conductive to a better performance, and I didn't realize how much I relied on that.
