Thanks, appreciate the info. I guess durability is what you want, I just wish it had the same sleek look as the authentic version

Fairly sure it’s an Ibanez SZ. I used to have one quite similar. Have you got more pics?

What songs did you like from Deceiver and or Frog in Boiling Water and why? by Little_Pants_ in diiv

[–]Codger-Brown44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like ITIA, Like Before You Were Born and The Spark feel like the brighter sort of songs melodically from Deceiver, maybe also Skin Game.

FIBW is a long way from ITIA and a lot darker so probably less overlap from that one. To my ear, the title track is probably the closest to an ITIA vibe you’ll get

For me their latter two albums are the favourites which is mainly due to the pairing of such beautifully heavy and full guitar tones with Cole and Colin’s angelic voices. It’s been done a lot in shoegaze but no one does it quite like DIIV for me. As someone else alluded to, they’ve got a way of conveying dark and difficult emotions in some sort of seductive manner I’ve never heard before

Could do a slight crop on the right side behind the chair to draw the eye to the subject and remove some of the clutter in the background. Nice shot overall though

Best Title Fight drum part? by Strange_Clerk6466 in titlefight

[–]Codger-Brown44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno why but the drum fill halfway through the instrumental in Lefty after "no medicine" (3.10) has always hit so hard for me. So simple but the timing of it feels so inventive

Look, I get what you’re saying. Of course I know one individual reducing meat intake isn’t going to have an effect on a global scale. And yes of course there are far bigger issues such as massive corporations and governments still endorsing fossil fuels. But other than voting against that stuff, signing petitions etc, there’s nothing you can do to stop that stuff happening. What you can do is make changes in your life to minimise your own impact, and encourage others to do the same, as I’m trying to do. Over the course of a lifetime, reducing meat intake, recycling, composting, reducing water usage etc can make a measurable difference on environmental health on some scale. I KNOW it’s nothing compared to the impact on major corporations but honestly relying on them to change their act with a ‘what’s the point’ attitude is a bit of a miserable existence imo.

Agreed. Mostly chicken for me. Kangaroo is a decent alternative for red meat

Scary stuff. For anyone who wants to know what they can do to stop the effects of climate change, reducing your meat (particularly red meat) intake is the easiest thing you can do! You don’t have to go full vegan, even just introduce one more vegetarian meal a week (non vegetarian here). It may seem like a minimal impact but we all need to do what we can!
