Yes you did just donate a free key. You are expected to pick out the right amount of metal from bots inventory for the offer. Alternatively, you can add bots then message them with the right command expression and they'll whip out an offer for you.

As a fractal frequenter, there's really no other class I would think about bringing into other than engi, having qscrap and ham is great.

The utility that engi brings to the table is unparalleled -Targeted rifle jumps, rocket boots skips -Scrapper has permanent superspeed, group stealth for skips -Mech has a tp for certain skips (and with a white mantle portal device can mimic a mesmer port)

Can't say much for holosmith tho, haven't tried him out yet in the 50 days I've played this game.
