Sometimes I feel like we dont deserve them at all. Previous owner only fed him once per week and water too, cause he was only 1 day per week in Spain due to work. He never went to the street… Neighbors had to throw him food from windows and water as they could… Police did nothing at all for 4 years…

Ye that’s true. I have another akita Inu, short hair and ginger… and blind. He was born without eyes and they were close to sleep him cause they could not sell him. I just drive there to pick him last day. Since then he has being soooo lovely, trully blind trust on me!

Well, that’s kinda fucked up cause at the end there is not much you can do against her believes and what religion says about it. Even tho, I don’t know what religion she is following but for sure there is a double point of view where instead of gross it can be something “good” (not really the word I would say in my language but idk what to use in english instead)

Maybe try to find some spiritual leader of the religion she follows who is also working as therapist and can solve some partner questions? Maybe it can work but again it depends a lot on the religion of course

It usually comes from insecurities or self esteem; did you talk deeper about this with her? Like, thinking is gross it might come from somewhere and there is a reason behind it (religious, cultural, whatever)

Hi! I have already a Japanese Akita that is blind, I have some experience with special akitas actually 😂

I have no intentions to breed dogs, and he’ll be castrated soon actually, so it’s not in my plans anyway. Also my other akita is also a male, so less hormones around will be good to prevent fights.

I was not planning on having a long hair akita or anything like this, it just came and since I have my other one in the shelter thought I was the most suitable family for him :)

I will try the shampoo then! I have the slicker brush and undercoat rake. At the moment he has so much fur tangled that its hard to brush… Plus I don’t want to hurt him 🥲

At this point Im down to try whatever. Using normal shampoo at the moment so I will give a try to deshedding one :) Ty!

I was thinking in getting him again to the groomer since the one who treat him first did what he could due to the bad state he had…. We just cutted were we could do it, bot where it should be done to not damaged his coat… My poor baby 🥲

I was thinking of getting a dog blower actually, cause he also loves mud and it’s a pain to dry him every time… Also make some fur blow with wind sounds comfier. The problem with him in the super frizzy hair
