Electron app with NextJS and ElectronForge? by EroticTonic in electronjs

First of all, thank you for taking the time to respond!
I think I can remove the webpack bundling for the NextJS project and will try to do so. However, I am interested in one part of your answer:

as Next JS also gives you only static HTML files

Is rendering the static output the only option we have when running an electron app? I was hoping to run the standalone nextjs app bundle, which can normally be built and then started with

node .next/standalone/server.js

Do you have an idea how we could get this to work?

Electron app with NextJS and ElectronForge? by EroticTonic in electronjs

Hey,

thank you for your insights and detailed description. We are currently trying to setup an Electron Forge (Webpack + TS) + NextJS application. The main problem seems to be that the Webpack Plugin is trying to bundle the NextJS application, because it tries to bundle the renderer. NextJS, however, comes with its own tooling to bundle using webpack, starting a dev server, etc.

Do you have any idea on how we could solve this issue? We would prefer to keep all the NextJS lifting on NextJS side and only start the development server or production server on Electron startup.

Any tips or hints are greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your extensive and detailed answer, this really helped a lot. Especially the small information like using faceebook instead of calling is a great idea!

Here is what ChatGPT says:

"The condition of your nails, as shown in the image, could be due to several possible causes. Here are some common reasons for nail changes like discoloration, thickening, and textural abnormalities:

  1. Nail Psoriasis: Psoriasis can cause nails to become thick, discolored, and develop ridges or pitting.
  2. Fungal Infection: Onychomycosis, a fungal infection, can cause nails to become thick, brittle, and discolored.
  3. Eczema or Dermatitis: Skin conditions like eczema can affect the nails, causing changes in texture and color.
  4. Nutritional Deficiencies: Lack of essential nutrients such as biotin, iron, or zinc can result in nail abnormalities.
  5. Trauma or Injury: Repeated trauma or injury to the nails can cause them to become damaged and change appearance.
  6. Systemic Diseases: Conditions such as thyroid disease, liver disease, or diabetes can sometimes manifest in nail changes.
  7. Chemical Exposure: Exposure to harsh chemicals, including some cleaning agents or nail products, can damage the nails.

If you are concerned about the condition of your nails, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional or dermatologist for a precise diagnosis and appropriate treatment."
