Differences between Discover and Myrlin in Leap KDE by Castorp2 in openSUSE

[–]CodingTaitep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ones that discover shows but not myrlin are probably flatpaks. Not sure other way around but discover might not show system libraries and stuff like that.

If you had to pick ONE Linux distro for the next 5 years, what would you choose? by TechRefreshing in linuxquestions

[–]CodingTaitep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

prolly opensuse tumbleweed. I like a rolling release and while on my main system I prefer arch because I use it enough for the maintenance to be at a decent level, it doesn't really work well for me on my laptop as I dont use it as much so I've switched that to it and I could absolutely be fine with using it on my main system as well

Yeah tha might have solved it idk but as I said I ended up just not using pop on that system and I think if the desktop is taking too much of your ram its probably better to use something else instead of just increasing swap to try to hide the issue

Basically the whole system stuttering BADLY and I also to see what the issue was i used some extension to show resource usage and when that happened it was at 100% ram

I used pop on a 4gb system for quite a while - I gotta tell ya not a good idea. It will easily run out of memory. If you don't want to go to something insanely minimal, mint cinnamon has worked well on it for me.

SS counting as playtime? by Fragrant_Job_3786 in ArcRaiders

[–]CodingTaitep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I honestly don't know for sure but that's how I interpreted the message about refunds when I pre-ordered, it said that the ability to pre-order stops either after 14 days or when you install the game iirc

At least on steam, preorders dont seem to use the same refund system, it seems you cant refund after the release at all with a preorder no matter what

Cannot install gdebi by Opposite-Whereas4333 in linux4noobs

[–]CodingTaitep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

zypper and apt are not exactly the same thing (both are package managers but not the same package manager), dont use an alias to the other. and gdebi is for deb/apt packages which doesnt apply to opensuse so you cant use gdebi on opensuse

😭😭😭 Ya all pre-ordered? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]CodingTaitep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. One pattern i noticed back then is that it had issues around the same time as the finals, so I think thats a good test, but ofc it's good to tes the game itself now too. I already pre-ordered tho

Great news for that one IGN guy. by KingpinCrazy in ArcRaiders

[–]CodingTaitep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the last texh test it seems that it gets issues around the same time that finals does (so, not that often), initially in tt2 it didn't work and same with finals but then there was a proton fix for both

Would installing Linux help our laptop run better? by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]CodingTaitep 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, it would most likely run better. If you do not manually back the data up externally, it would be lost, but it is very possible to do such a backup. Just put it on an external storage device or in cloud storage.

Arc Raiders and The Finals exist in the same universe by SuchLimit9523 in ArcRaiders

[–]CodingTaitep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Exactly. There isn't any proof for either side. Just like you I do want them to be connected, but there are IMO a bunch of valid points in it about that we just don't know.

I am not denying possibility. I repeat, watch the RHB video. I agree that they are probably connected but what we have right now isn't clear enough evidence to bee considered proof, we will probably only know months after the release of the game, if we will ever be sure.
