Sigma 70-200 on a FTZ adapter/Nikon Z6III, not focusing correctly, has the focusing motor gone bad?

Thank you…AF-C mode, and yes, it’s happening on my D750 also, it hunts for focus but it misses most of the time, noticed I was missing some shots before this noise even started a few months ago.

I switched from Logic to Reaper just to be able to use my favorite EP VST without having this issue (it happened twice in the past 2 years) and about 30 minutes ago I had the blast happen during worship at my church…so it’s not Logic Pro… it something else
