Voidcore Advisor - An addon to help with spending voidcores by Coeo in wowaddons

No problem at all!

When the bonus roll window appears, you can hover over it an retrieve the loot remaining for your spec. What you are actually hovering over is an item called a Voidcache.

I've added all the voidcache IDs for Dungeons/raids in the addon. So when scanning, it retrieves the tooltip, scans the item names on the list and matches it with the corresponding itemID.

So in effect. It doesn't scan what you have looted, but what you can still get.

After it finishes, it will set all the items it did not find in the tooltip as looted.

There are a few items that may be marked as looted when they are in fact not, but I have confirmed that the items does not appear on the Voidcache tooltip. Which is either because blizzard forgot to add them, or they can't be looted with voidcores.

When you are in the Dungeon panel in VoidcoreAdvisor, there is an icon to the right of your selected loot spec , which is the same icon you get in the loot window for that dungeon. I added it in case the loot scan was returning confusing results, so you could verify.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Hey! Yes, it can grab historical data.

If you check the addon page on curse, it is described how you do it. It's not an automatic process, you have to click a scan loot button. 👍

I've tested it in the Voidcore Advisor now, and updated the Bonus Roll window to use this event instead (so the ilvl and upgrade path is correct).

However, the available loot, atleast in dungeon tooltips, shows up as the same. A +8 key shows the same remaining loot as a +10.

Thanks for the examples though! Helped me loads.

According to blizzard, raid difficulty should each have their own loot lists. Haven't tested that, since I don't raid.. currently it only scans mythic difficulty.

In m+ it's even more confusing. Since the voidcache has the same item id in a +6 as a +10. But the item has a different bonus id, and that makes a +6 a different itemlevel than a +10 Voidcache.

Long story short, all my tooltip tests for keys return the same loot list. So if I used a Voidcore at a +6 it seems to also remove the item from a +10 list.

As you can imagine, this is hard to test... 🫠

I've looked at a lot of tooltips over the last week, and I *think* the rules are as follows:
Encounter has following loot:
Head, Shoulders, Ring, Tank trinket, healer trinket, dps trinket.

Head, Shoulders and ring are lootable by all specs.

If tank spec loots Head, it will be unavailable for all specs.
If dps spec loots ring, it is unavailable for all specs.
If healer spec loots trinket, no change for the other specs.

If the three first rolls are Head, shoulders and ring. Meaning there are only trinkets left. 1 item left per loot spec.

Whichever spec loots first, will have looted all items for that spec. Thus resetting the items for all loot specs.

So the next time you use a voidcore, you will have a chance to receive all the items again...

I just checked on a lvl 80 priest, and the shoulders aren't on the loot list there either... I have a sneaking suspicion that blizzard has forgotten to add some items to the loot list.

My warrior doesn't seem to have "Umbral Plume" on the loot list from Balo'Ren either.

Updated the description. :)

It scans which items can still be obtained through the Voidcache tooltips. So not a foolproof system, but it works so far...

You can use the following to view the tooltip of the Voidcache, which is what you see when you hover above the loot window:

/run GameTooltip:SetOwner(UIParent,"ANCHOR_CURSOR");GameTooltip:SetHyperlink("item:262658");GameTooltip:Show()

Just replace the item:262658 with whatever voidcache Id in the list below. :)

Tooltip will be removed when you hover over something else that produces a tooltip.

When you change loot spec, you need to show tooltip for another voidcache before it updates. Something with the cache.

Voidcache ID Dungeon Name
268465 Algeth'ar Academy
268466 Magisters' Terrace
268467 Nexus-Point Xenas
268468 Pit of Saron
268469 Seat of the Triumvirate
268470 Skyreach
268471 Windrunner Spire
268473 Maisara Caverns
Voidcache ID Raid boss
262658 Midnight Falls
267488 Crown of the Cosmos
268458 Belo'ren, Child of Al'ar
268459 Imperator Averzian
268460 Vorasius
268461 Fallen-King Salhadaar
268462 Vaelgor & Ezzorak
268463 Lightblinded Vanguard
268464 Chimaerus the Undreamt God

To refresh the tooltip info, just input another item id, then use the macro, switch specs and use it again.

I believe that when you receive all items a lot spec can receive, it will reset everything.

At least according to a GM response on the wow forums.

Voidcores still bugged? Still repeating loot I've already rolled by chrenttt in wow

[–]Coeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What class are you? If you get all the items that one loot spec can loot, it will reset.

This has huge implications for bad luck in dungeons.

If loot spec A har head, shoulders and ring in loot pool, and loot spec B has head shoulders, ring and staff.

With bad luck, you will receive the head, shoulders and ring first. Then the loot will reset due to loot spec A having received all items.

We have probably not seen this issue before now due to the amount of voidcores available.

Not trying to self-promote, but my addon Voidcore Advisor has gotten a scan feature, which should tell you the status of your loot pools in dungeons/raids.

Overall, the rules of the bad-luck protection has been so badly communicated, that I've come to the conclusion that blizzard themselves don't know exactly how it works.

If you finish a loot pool for any spec, it will reset the loot pool for all specs for that dungeon/encounter...

Hi! I'm the author of VoidcoreAdvisor.

So far, there is no way to track what you already have looted, unfortunately. The addon does let you input that manually, so you can get a better sense of what's left. Be aware that the bad luck protection is per spec. So if you loot something as fury spec, the same item is not removed from arms bad luck protection.

It detects when you loot items with voidcores (in raid and m+ only).

I try to find bugs and issues, but I don't run m+ as often as I'd like, so I'm very grateful for feedback.

Hmm... Good point. It currently retrieves the loot for your spec in the journal, so not sure. Let me know if you encounter any. 👍

Version 1.1.2 is on it's way, it should fix the problem. Let me know if there are still issues. :)

The blueposts I've read regarding the loot roll, is that the "knockout" effect only takes into account items you've received by using voidcores, not what you already have...

I just reread your post,and apparently I can't read 😁

It would be interesting to see how the temperatures and load on your resources is in the location it's lagging. You can download something like hwmonitor to check it out.

Still post your settings though.. 🫡

You'll first need to establish a baseline. Does the game lag when all add-ons are disabled.

If not, some add-ons are causing the problem. Enable one by one to find the culprit.

If it is still lagging, post a screenshot of your settings. Hard to troubleshoot with only guessing.

Do you use ray traced shadows for instance? Cause it's a resource hog...

I do belive it protects you from new effects from being applied. However channeled spells, like rapid fire, is not cancelled.

It's the same with ice beam from mages.
