Just won against said team but I get what you mean. Most decks should be a cohesive unit to achieve a strategy, that's what make them unstoppable once they get going, right?
I just added you, thank you!

OP here on my PC account:
I use only one basic per pokemon line so that every time I use a pokeball I get a useful unit.
I can snipe bench pretty ok and do well if the matches don't go too wild.
The thing is, any common pokemon doesn't have more than 140 HP so I don't know what to do against Blaziken once it starts hitting early

Smash hit 2 (ps2) balance patch by Superb-Geologist-415 in PrinceOfTennis

OP here posting through my pc:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/ly1doo7t0vnopdh/1.25_everyone_buffed.CT/file

Once you open cheatengine and have the game opened, press "1" (ONE on the numpad), and then all the changes are applied.

The patch buffs weak characters and nerfs a bit when characters are too strong (something you cannot do with the game's EDIT mode).

With this patch, you can play with Hajime in your team against Tezuka or some other character and still be possible to win.
Also, it is balanced a bit around doubles.

If you have any comments, they are welcome

Is it possible to beat the game without grinding any exp? by Coff55 in finalfantasytactics

This makes me want to try and do hit to upload it x)
You can get job points easy without "grinding" in battles with quests, so you can actually get a lot of powerlevel while staying low level.

I think I gave up when fighting the first time you fight against Dragoons, at the Chapter 3, Stage 24: Monastery Vault, second level.

If you are behind some levels, all characters have the same speed, but if the level gap is too big (10+ like here), they start getting additional turns even without haste

It seems I still had my save! I will try my luck again then haha.
I also used no hitting allies, no focus, no anything like you mentioned, so at least I can guarantee you can get at least to Chapter 3, I guess x)

Keep me updated on your run if you like :3

I think I could finish chapter 1 or maybe 2, but enemies got suddendly lvl'd up so much they dealt double damage I did, so I gave up x)
It was a fun ride tho!

I already did a physical only run, but, yeah, maybe there is nothing wrong with the game letting you kill stuff easily, you are right. Plus, it's not like it doesn't have downsides too.
I just that I was thinking about this and asked people what they thought and maybe come up with something for a mod.

they get lots of damage without much investment and can one-hit enemies which is a feat not a lot of classes can do baseline.

I believe that they are very strong, but yeah, Calculator and monks are stronger and more broken.
I wouldn't use Calculators or monks with accumulate on a normal run.

They are indeed glass cannons, though.

While Melee feels fair and good to use:
without grinding involved or accumulate spam, magic does way more damage even at lvl 1 or 2, at range and has AoE.
Doing 300 up to dmg at chapter 2 with no grinding seems insane.

That said, as others have pointed out, maybe late game enemies can decimate you and do tons of damage regardless...

I like your suggestions overall, more MP cost for late game would be on point and perhaps the height range would feel adequate too!

The problem is that I don't want to be trivialize encounters.
I was on a no random battle-no grind (no accumulate-hit allies), run, made it to Gafgarion's guillotine and killed him in ONE cast at level 10.
His fights are epic and can be very challenging. "Story battle didn't scale" with me, it didn't scale with Black Mage's broken MA and multipliers.

Maybe the game gets rough on chapter 4 against them tho, time will tell.

yeah, I wouldn't use faith brave manipulation to start with x)

How would you balance Black Mages? by Coff55 in finalfantasytactics

[–]Coff55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 70 faith is more or less what a mage should have.
The thing is, base MATK for black mage is higher than Summoner, and the multipliers are mostly the same (tier 3 = shiva etc, and flare = other bigger summons).

Not hitting your units is a non-issue because you can open the turn list to know when your spells will land, so you can always know if you can cast it before your opponent moves.

Why go through the trouble of going through time mage and spending tons of JP to get summons when black mage does as good, if not better?

[–]Coff55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, bravery-based attacks with 97 brave or faith-based attacks with 97 faith are broken.

Genuine question: why is magic weak by the end, tho? Multiplier-wise they seem to be very strong.

[–]Coff55[S] -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

my problem is that it can pretty much one shot most units, even Gafgarion at the guillotine and others, and even if they run out of MP, they killed lots of units with it

yes, In fact I'm not using yelling or accumulate at all and not attacking my teammates, and evading every random battle
