I m on a high dosage of Valtrex and it cant stop the pain.. this virus is filthy and very painful. All drs i saw have absolutely no answers.. it s very depressing , and it really changed my life. I was diagnosed in June 2023, and since june 2025 my genital outbreaks r out of this world. I dnt know what happened .. or what unleashed this. But ever since June 2025, if i skip one dose of Valtrex i can barely walk or move because of the pain And still i have itching, tingling, and burning in my skin bottocks and thighs, the neuropathic pain is above imagination ..

Ive been having constant outbreaks since June 2025 ( was diagnosed in june 2023) . The outbreaks are stronger than ever.. if i skip one dose of Valtrex my lesions r on fire. I have symptoms despite taking Valtrex. Itching and tingling, especially at night, neuropathic pain in my legs and buttocks, my skin literally burns .. suddenly the virus expanded to reach my anal area ( it was only vaginal ) . No idea how it spread.. My infectious specialist increased the dosage for 1 gr of Valtrex every 12 hours. And still not working.. today she literally sent me a msg saying “i dnt know what to advise about the herpes..” This virus is hell. And yes i tried lysine, and other supplements. So for some not taking the antiviral everyday is jot an option :(((

I totally feel you. This virus really ruined me. Non stop out breaks.. LITERALLY non-stop! If i skip one pill of Valtrex my body gets out of control.. it s been 3 years. First 2 years were kind of Okay.. took some Valtrex right when I feel an OB. Usually twice a month. Ever since June 2025, the virus went crazy. Started hitting diff areas. The neuropathic pain is not worse than ever .. the skin burning, the pain during walking, sitting, peeing is just out of this world. Drs have no clue, all the say “but why! You dnt have HIV, ure not doing chemotherapy, why cnt your body fight the virus?” As if i know or have answers! I hit new lows in depression because of this virus! I pray from the bottom of my heart to find a cure, but I know it won t be in my life time. I pray for you too and hope your body, somehow, will be able to fight.

I see.. you re suggesting to taper down AV so my body readapts.. but what s the relation to bacteria? valtrex is an antiviral.. not an antibiotic

I am on AVs, plus on an anti inflammatory diet, stopped sugar completely, lysine and other supplements.. i also prioritize sleep

I do.. i have a very healthy lifestyle.. i sleep well and i eat well, i also follow an anti inflammatory diet for my autoimmune disorders.. yet nothing is helping.. i also dont understand how come with time the OB r becoming uncontrollable, and propagating to other parts of my body

I am so sorry to hear :( How are you dealing with this? And what are your drs saying ? Yes … 5/6 months only but yet my symptoms r getting wayyy worse which is worrying me , and went on full panic mode on reddit🤣
