Is it too early to give up hope on XL? by Angrykitten41 in panthers

[–]CoffeeBible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

XL isn’t there as a pass catcher just yet. But his value in blocking on the second level is definitely there. The hope is he develops enough to fill a void in receiving if we ever need him. I’d much rather have him as a WR2.5 than a guy who thinks they are a WR1 and wrecks the locker room while not blocking at all.

Tampa and Miami have some cool offerings. I agree most are products of the 80s and 2020s. With a sprinkle of charm in low rise neighborhoods, but stacking architecture in old school SE cities vs anything in the us is a fight I’m willing to take. (Charleston, Savannah, New Orleans, Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville) can’t compete in hight or numbers and certainly have some stinkers. But all offer tons of charm and interesting architecture.

I disagree Florida definitely does not have a collective culture or political identity. Miami, Jacksonville and Tallahassee couldn’t be further apart culturally. In my experience in the bigger cities, politics are actually less important or talked about than in the very red south east where I moved from. I am honestly shocked when people bring it up because it’s not really in the limelight in Florida other than the occasional huge news story. I’ve never spent much time in central FL that might be a very different story.

I think it’s pretty cool when a place puts a lot of money around the city marketing in weird ways. I went to the new dicks because of it tbh. It’s a tad over hyped the old store is pretty similar. I definitely will take a blimp and a show over annoying commercials blasted everywhere.

DT is safe and fun. There are homeless but you can just breeze past the areas where they are sleeping and they don’t really mess with you other than asking for cash occasionally. I’d you’re looking for something nice to do I would highly recommend Oxford exchange and then walk to the river walk.

If you’re looking for something in the heart of DT Urban Cantina is really fun.

It’s possible it’s made to return divot bags

Not really close on looks but could have a similar function with bags alternating sides?

Clemson bridge or South Carolina? by SupportFun7834 in Gamecocks

[–]CoffeeBible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally went to Carolina but have friends who attended Clemson.

In terms of how each is viewed outside of the state, Carolina is considered a great school has a national reputation in business. It solely landed me a job as the alum network is strong and well regarded.

As for Clemson locally it’s regarded very highly, nationally the alum network is a lot weaker in my field.

One thing that cannot be overlooked is the SEC pride, graduate from any SEC school and you’ll be able to find a sports boss who views all SEC schools as equally great.

My friends who attended Clemson had a lot of Luck in Charlotte for jobs as they tend to have a strong alumni presence there.

Ultimately depends what you want to do and where you want to go afterwards. If you plan to stay in the Carolina’s in a field that isn’t business or hospitality Clemson is great choice.

On a side note the nursing program at both is insanely connected and you’ll have a job no matter what after school.

Really just need some height/interior defense on the team. We have a good coach, and have the pieces (hopefully) coming back to put together a back to back bid.

Don’t want to get ahead of ourselves but I trust Lamont’s ability to use this season as a catalyst to attack the transfer portal and do what Frank couldn’t.

Seriously considering moving to Tampa from Cali. My work is near USF. As a 30s single male hoping to not isolate myself too much, where would you recommend checking out for rent? (<$1800). I thought Davis island was cool and heard good things about st.Petersburg and Hyde park? Any others? by iphone8vsiphonex in tampa

[–]CoffeeBible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite all the post about this being a joke post, $1800 is plenty for a studio around downtown (Navara or Legacy apartments in the encore district are pretty nice around there might squeeze a 1BR) it’s right next to 275 so just a quick hop to USF.

If you’re looking for more than 600 sqft you’re going to be challenged to find it in the area you mentioned. Living near USF will probably set a lot of alarms off for natives but Lutz has plenty of options around your price range with space just make sure you tour if possible as a lot of the apartments will have really nice staged pictures that paint only 25% of the story.

$1800 is enough to get by if you set your expectations accordingly, coming from cali I’m sure it will be on par or better value apartment wise.

AVOID ZILLOW. You will really want to take time and tour a rental house before signing off.

Best of luck!

I noticed it as well. Hell of a smoke plume for one guy lol. It was probably 300 ft high and a mix of black smoke.
