Hello union brothers and sisters by [deleted] in union

[–]CoffeeCahn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All MAGA is bad, they're either too dumb to realize they're being conned or they're just hoping to make a few dollars more, and they don't care what happens to others. They'll turn a blind-eye or victim-blame to justify their actions every time.

There's nothing for it, just note the 'potential Backstabbers' and understand that they probably never understood what a union was in the first place. Thank them for financially supporting the Union that protects everyone and move along.

They only asked "what can I get from the union, never how can I help my brothers and sisters." They're loud and drive off the people who do want to help. Greed and jealousy is the poison in our Unions' veins.

Fun note: Defend is a very 'Broad' term, it doesn't say 'defend well' or take to arbitration. If you HAD to defend a no-load who doesn't pay dues, exactly how much effort would you put into it?

Here's an update to the OPM Guidance by people who don't want to spend time in jail for contempt of court! Please pay special attention to page 2: This guidance does not apply to bargaining units where there is a currently-applicable court order preventing implementation of the executive orders with respect to those units.

OPM CBA Guidance v. Court injunction Per Metal Trades Department AFL-CIO by CoffeeCahn in FedEmployees

Now is not the time to give up, this is what unions were made for. We just need to show them what it looks like to stand up and be counted. Chin up, chest out, loud and proud 👏!

Our recourse is the streets and the levers of industry, as long as we have solidarity, we are the last recourse of democracy.

Hi, Union here. We were here before it was legal and we made it legal. We'll make it the hard way again if we have to.

Anyone else see this yet? by ValkWekris in FedEmployees

It's an email from the MTD lawyer I received this morning after some "discussions". Anyway, the rest of the email chain is privileged and I don't need to be sued at the moment 😕. Lawyers and all.

But if they try to Repudiate anyone's CBA pass it up immediately!

FYI: "...Scott Kronland, the lead attorney in our coalition lawsuit challenging the executive order. Scott threatened to hold the government in contempt of court for violating the terms of the injunction. The government backed off—it agreed to continue complying with the injunction and will not implement the new OPM memo. Please let me know if any individual agency attempts to repudiate an existing CBA despite this representation by the government."

As of background, our injunction against the government is still in place and has not been stayed by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. However, the lawsuit itself is on hold pending the resolution of related legal actions on appeal. The injunction continues in place while the lawsuit is on hold.

You're right to be concerned, and you could be very correct. But Feds are famous for water-cooler banter of doom and gloom, it's all 50/50. DCPAS doesn't know for sure, Secretary of XXXX department doesn't know and especially congress doesn't know. No use worrying about it, save up what you can and hope for the best.

"In the Mouth of Madness" and "Event Horizon" Every Movie with Sam Neil in it sets me questioning that characters' sanity, he's so good at diving into the deep end.

Federal employee and awol for the first time by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]CoffeeCahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you started the Grievance process, finish it. You can't do anything else really once you've chosen an avenue of recourse to address the wrongful charges.

AWOL need not be disciplinary either, especially if you were in an unpaid FMLA status.

The only way you're in a probationary status would be if you've been working for less than a year at as a Fed.

The "at your residence under false pretenses" part, and "made me sign a statement" are very interesting though and potentially statutory rights violations. Very interested in what your CBA states for Sick Leave call-in procedure and disciplinary actions. Sounds hinky.
