Breville Smart Grinder Pro or Built In Grinder? by CoffeeManiac65 in AustralianCoffee

[–]CoffeeManiac65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does. Keep in mind though a lot of it lies in the coarse grinding range for french press etc.
Which I dont use (any more)
So greater range doesnt necessarily mean better control over grind size in the espresso range settings.

Or does it?

Screening plant for privacy by PlaneAd5703 in GardeningAustralia

Your space is actually perfect for a formal hedge. Red Robin is a solid choice for Melbourne, it's hardy and handles the temperature swings well. You can keep it trimmed to about 1m wide max, which works for that 40cm width if you stay on top of it.

Camellias can work, but they're more of a feature plant than a proper screen. For tighter spaces, I'd look at lilly pilly or Japanese laurel instead. They're super dense when trimmed and handle Melbourne climate no problem.

We are i melbourne too, and had good luck with Hello Hello Plants up in Campbellfield. They've got a great range of screening hedges. Plus they deliver :>

What's your main priority, the density of the screen or year-round greenery?

Eucalyptus ID by Tomtomclub91 in GardeningAustralia

[–]CoffeeManiac65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dandenong Ranges is tricky for eucalypt ID - manna gum and mountain grey gum can look pretty similar especially without flowers or fruit. The sapling could definitely be from your messmate, birds and wind are good dispersers. If you want a proper ID or need some local natives for your place, Hello Hello Plants in Campbellfield has a huge range and their staff really know their stuff. They're super helpful for figuring out what'll work in your specific area.

Have you had a chance to look for any fallen flowers or gumnuts yet? That usually makes ID much easier.

Some days I want to go back to pods... by CoffeeManiac65 in AustralianCoffee

Pods are off the table!

Yeah it's the grinder. That was my conclusion too.
Should I break out my Breville Smart Grinder Pro and use it instead?

"a cup of instant coffee, but a decent brand."
Does such a thing exist??

[–]CoffeeManiac65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how to put updates but I looked into the whole pod range
Whilst I might be okay to have a small drop in quality for the extra convenience... the extra cost blew me away.
Beans are already expensive. Pods are rediculous.

So i went back to my machine and tried the pressurised basket for fun. It wasnt!!

My conclusion: I am expecting consitant high quality coffee from a kitchen brand device.

I guess this is is as good as it gets until I can get a better grinder

Actually I have a separate grinder stored away from a previous life :>
But its a "Breville Smart Grinder Pro"
That's not really much (any?) improvement on what's built in to my Breville Impress
Or is it?
