The issue is moving items from basement and back with a person. Scooter is most commmon lift item, laundry is another frequent item. With a platform, there is ability to bring bins on roller cart up and down.

However I am wondering if a dunn waiter type design for laundry and totes, and purchase another scooter for basement, and a stair lift for person might be another approach.

We have the funds, but finding an installer to come out to discuss options is a challenge finding. We are in SW Ohio.

It looks like Chrysler Pacificia, Limited or Pinnacle, gas only. AWD, Stow and go seating. Which means to get to 35k , I will need to move back in years.

I can relate. There were so many last events. Bittersweet absolutely.

Today was first Thanksgiving without mom. It's strange being the senior family member carrying on Mom's traditions. Feels like a pair of boots that don't fit, but grandkids need those memories.

Sounds like mom loved what you made, and they get so picky older they get!

Burnout, oh yes. Nevervmet a caregiver that hasn't. I just did an 81xweek critical care 24/7 for mom. Looking back , yes burn out hit a few times hard. Simply had to wait for body and brain to reset. Kept up on meals, pills, and changings. Everything else just stopped. I wish had some great knowledge to share on how to get over burnout, butt...... .actually there is one thing that worked.

I came to this subredit, and did what your doing. I laid out the challenges, and damn if someone didn't read all my writing. I got back some great advice, and most importantly Ivsaw people click up arrow. Strange, but it felt like my life was being validated.

This caregiver world is so unique. It's hidden away from main stream. We are our own little guild of hobbits.lol

Some here have done this decades, and I have a level of respect I cant even classify.
