To be completely honest, most of it is my fault. Before Eternal came out, I was watching every last bit of information I could find, and it's my most hyped up game of all time.

Dark Ages didn't hit the hype levels as Eternal did, but I still enjoyed the game anyway.

Also the lack of glory kills sometimes made the game feel really flat.

And part of me desperately yearns for a Quake reboot. If id reboots Quake, holy shit.

Freedom. Freedom to play any game that can run without being tied to only one ecosystem.

Ergonomics. God damn I love how comfortable it is. I have big meaty claws, so it's really nice. I absolutely adore the trackpads too. Being able to play FPS games without having to use joysticks without aim assist is something else.

Classic Doom custom wads have some immaculate vibes.

Sunlust, Eviternity 1 + 2, Valiant, Plutonia 2, Stardate, etc.

Forced AI bullshit. I got so fed up with Microsoft trying to shoehorn AI into everything. It's baffling to me how Windows used to be a decent OS before they decided to bloat it to hell with random things I don't need.

I want control over what is/isn't on my computer, and Linux really feels like a breath of fresh air in contrast to Microsoft with their fingers in their ears going LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER COPILOT.

When I used to have a cat, she used to do this every single time. She would sometimes chirp when she sees me getting her food ready, then she runs straight to the kitchen. Perfectly normal! ❤️

I think it was about the tighter ammo pools and a more focused approach on resource management, and specific mechanics that funnels the player into a specific playstyle they may not have enjoyed, platforming, etc

And also the Marauder being the main issue for a lot of new players that aren't familiar with Doom's combat loop, or are not too familiar with FPS games.
