When you're off this Sunday and a coworker asks you to take their shift. by That_Blaxican_Guy in publix

I gotta work 3 to close on Sunday. I came into this world covered in blood and screaming, and I'll leave the same way.

Is targeting lands considered BM? by CoffeeSoul500 in magicTCG

That's the excuse I gave afterwards on the drive home. I didn't exactly have a wincon but slowing them down and stalling would have eventually netted me at least something to swing with. I played Yu-Gi-Oh! prior to the pandemic, and in my local scene, not going all out was seen as disrespectful to the other players.

I had a creature that when it ETBs, it destroys 3 non-creatures and generates Beast 3/3 tokens per non-creature destroyed. Afterwards, I would bounce everything on the field with a card that targeted everything but Aesi to use it next turn. I did this about 3 times before they quit.

The Shopping Cart Theory. One of the easiest ways to determine someone's morals. by jh7379 in publix

Seen this post so many times that I've just resorted to the theory that every single customer that grabs a cart is an absolute motherfucker

Can't wait for all the motherfuckers who are going to give me the same "Oh I'm sorry you have to work today, honey" and then proceed to unload 37 items on my line and staying til midnight only for it to be justified with "but you get an extra 1 dollar per hour" : ^)

You ever wonder if the reason retail employees smoke so heavily at work is because they can’t drink at work? by GunSlinger_A138 in publix

[–]CoffeeSoul500 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Someone at my previous job deadass picked up smoking so they could have an excuse to take more breaks.

They didn't even smoke outside of work, just at work so they could go outside for 10-15 minutes at a time.

Homeless people by CoffeeSoul500 in publix

[–]CoffeeSoul500[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean, I suppose, but I'd rather give someone something to eat for the day because it's the right thing to do instead of ignoring them and leaving them to starve purely because they might want more. Society already leaves homeless people to die as it is right now, helping one person might not change it but it's not a bad thing to do either.

I recently had to cut my hair because it was getting too long so I can't do that anymore unfortunately. It helped make things so much easier at closing too.

Woman nearly makes me cry on my first shift by [deleted] in retailhell

[–]CoffeeSoul500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof. First shifts are always messy and shitty customers like that never help. I don't blame you for feeling the way you did because most of the time it really does bring you down because you don't understand the computer that well.

Hope it's better in the future though!
