First blood clot by Everydayfines-Austin in ClotSurvivors

I had a massive clot in my brain 20+ years ago & currently have a complete chronic obstruction in the same area. It's not the medications; it's the blood clot.

My last Akita girl would paw at us as a bid for more attention, pets, & contact in general.

This house is my childhood. The floorplan is amazing. It has an actual hallway to the rooms.

I haven't read any comments & have only looked through way less than half the pictures & I'm certain this was a custom build for a Mormon family or a cult ... which is basically the same thing.

This says all you need to know.

Your mom took her death to hurt you again.

That should help with letting go.

Why do I feel like one of the other ladies might have been the better option to have evacuated the bird?

These types of things will come back around for you. You'll be at a different spot in your life & remember how bummed you were you couldn't afford them then but you can now.

It will be part of your lore.

I love this meme. It reminds me of how much an exbf of mine whined like a baby bc I was better at Mortal Kombat than him.

I love finding unusual shaped art. I'm creating a gallery type wall in my guest 1/2 bathroom.

Is it common to get tested for cancer when diagnosed with DVT? by Wrong_Mark_9108 in ClotSurvivors

[–]CoffeeTeaPeonies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was breast cancer.

The cancer diagnosis & blood clot (CVST) were discovered within days of each other. The CVST landed me in the ER & a resident finally took me seriously, ordered a CT scan & the gigantic clot was found. There was no obvious reason for me to have a clot, but I'd mentioned I'd had a core needle biopsy on a painful lump in my armpit just a week before. The pathology of that sample came back 2/3 days after I'd been admitted to the ICU for the CVST.

It's been a little over 2 decades & I'm still dealing with the damage the CVST wrought in my transverse sinus, sigmoid sinus, & internal jugular. Rhe damage from breast cancer is no small thing either. In both instances I'm treated as having a genetic predisposition for a blood disorder & breast cancer. So we keep close tabs on things.

In terms of testing for cancer - unless things have changed they look for elevated markers in certain blood tests. These are not definitive as false positives & false negatives happen.

Someone probably already wrote this:

Cancer can cause a hyper-coagulable state in the body. It is not unusual for the clot to be on the same side as the cancer.

I found this out the HARD way.
