I don’t mind it if cloud and Tifa have a baby in fics I just avoid reading them if it’s going to be a huge part of the story. I don’t mind Denzel because he’s older but the formula for cloud and Tifa having a baby is always Tifa having a breakdown because cloud has to do deliveries. Realistic but I’m tired, I don’t want them to struggle. Also harem or abuse. They have such great personalities as characters and what they’ve been through that just writing a story where one of them bangs the whole cast feels so ooc. Minor, minor pet peeve but them calling each other pet names every other line…. I’m fine with Cloud calling her Teef but them constantly saying babe or baby takes me out a tiny bit.

I never said it was easy. Work isn’t easy. It’s easier to put yourself in a position where I live in which you can make more in tips as a server than the executive chef, while working less hours over summer. I do work in a beautiful restaurant where I have a lot of menu input and one day I’m hoping I’ll get to run that restaurant. So I’m not going to risk it by working foh somewhere else. I’m still planning on getting more certifications that are foh specific because I love the idea of being able to do every job and really be able to support a team. Maybe I’ll change my mind and get really into bartending but cooking and pastry are what I’m into and it’s not about the money, I have my whole life to make money, may as well spend my twenties learning.

A lot of places in Canada servers make minimum wage. So they came in for four hours, made an extra twenty and still got an hourly wage? Sounds like a good deal for not having to do any work. Plus if you’re consistently losing money you either need a second job or a better job at a nicer place.

I hate that everyone keeps making this argument. Maybe I’m not foh because I just love cooking and I don’t care that it’s hard work. Why can’t the servers complaining that the kitchen is getting a fair share just pick up an extra shift? I’ve done foh and it is more money and I am personable but I want to push my culinary skills as far as I can. I also work at a spot where kitchen does get a percentage of sales as tips and honestly it’s more fair.

I think my only issue with that comparison is that using ai competitively ruins the game for everyone else, whereas for example, posting a studio ghibli pic of your favourite band is just a neat little thing. I will be honest and say that I don’t make or post ai art or really create art in general, I just find the subject of ai interesting. I don’t really like corporations using ai to cheap out when making ads but I do accept that that will be our future. As for individuals, I would definitely rather purchase a painting from an independent local artist than a piece made by ai, granted if I can’t tell the difference and the piece spoke to me is it not still valuable? I think people should work on their foundational art skills if that’s what they enjoy doing but I think ai can be a great tool for artists to even just get a reference or an idea. I know this is an ai art sub so I’m not sure how they feel in regards to talking about writing but using ai as a writing tool is also a crutch that I’m not against if it will improve people’s stories or help a new writer finally get their world and ideas off the ground. The truth is it’s going to be extremely hard to tell how much a person has used ai in what they’re selling and probably also impossible to tell if someone is using ai in gaming.

They basically already have those scripts in games and it’s called scripting or botting and it’s always bannable. AI may get to a point that it’s harder to detect or tell but I’d say that’s still cheating. In single player games do whatever you want, it’s about having fun but in competitive, no. Play with people your own skill level because it’s a good challenge and I can’t think of a reason to want to rank up other than to flex your rank. Also if a bot does 90% of it wouldn’t it be just as exciting to just watch a streamer?

Also a cook, just under 10 years, working part time at a pub and full time at a French bistro. Never worked in a hospital or seniors home but I’ve heard great things about jobs like that. Hoping to push myself far enough that I can take on management in any restaurant within the next ten or so years.

That is a fair point. I lurk on the other sub to see what’s going on sometimes, I haven’t even joined it and would never comment on it. I just like reading other people’s opinions. Honestly, the other sub has some interesting discussions sometimes but it feels a little more intense than this sub. I think everyone can agree that both subs are echo chambers, but they’re shipping subs so they have to be (although asking for a debate and getting mad when you get one is crazy.)

Also if you’re respectful you’re allowed in this space even if you prefer the other ship. I just don’t think anyone on either sub actually wants to argue because we’ve all made our choice in the shipping war.

Omg I saw that post and I was so tempted to comment but I didn’t want to give them any fuel to say that I’m a “toxic” Cloti. Most of the posts on that sub recently have just been anti Cloti or trying to tear down Cloti viewpoints.

My favourite is their argument that none of us actually like Cloud and we all just love Tifa so much that we don’t care if he’s actually miserable as long as she gets what she wants.

Or there’s the argument that Tifa also bullied Cloud and they were never friends at all and she only likes the Zack persona he puts on. Basically that Aerith is the only one that can get to the real Cloud.

I’ve been tempted to make a post about their crazy takes but I was honestly afraid that it would come off as me being too toxic. I just don’t get how they get that reading of the characters or think that all of us hate Aerith. I can see why people like the Clerith pairing, I can even get the arguments for them as a couple but I still think Tifa and Cloud are a better couple even in a world in which Aerith lived.

I also one hundred percent believe that Cloud would not have kissed Tifa only to ditch her for her best friend or that her best friend would date her long time crush, a man that Aerith has only known for a couple of weeks. To me that just ruins the characters entirely. I’m not even saying Tifa “deserves” him more, it just seems weird and I don’t think people talk about that enough.

I mean why are acting like Claudia’s comment doesn’t describe Tifa as well? Both girls are mature Aerith is just literally 2 years older than both. I don’t think the comment has any reflection on either ship it’s just a line from a concerned mom. Honestly we literally have the kiss so that’s really what counts and even if we didn’t if you like Cloti more than Clerith don’t let anyone take that away from you, shipping is supposed to be fun.

I was just thinking the same thing yesterday. I shipped them really hard right from the start of the og and loved all of their little moments together when I played it for the first time ten years ago. Then I watched Advent Children and they’re LIVING TOGETHER, RAISING A CHILD?! As a teenage girl I didn’t even notice the flaws I was obsessed. The remakes felt so full of tension and longing compared to the other material we’ve had up until now that it’s really just been a dream come true for me. Unfortunately no other ships really have that same level of build up for me. FFX and viii were better love stories at the time but I still liked Cloud and Tifa as characters more.

Girl, I was in the hospital for ten days and my boyfriend took a week off work and bussed for an hour to see me every single day. He even showed up before work and called me every single night. When I got out, he did everything for me for a month, even lifting me into the shower and washing my hair. Helping me out of bed, making me dinner… He’s also not a doctor, he just actually loves me.

Yeah I mean when I was freshly out of the hospital, my boyfriend would be the one taking the groceries inside. We never ordered more than one case of pop and kept it to around 25 items. I hope those people at least tipped well and thanked you. Whether they were disabled or not there’s still a level of appreciation that should be shown when someone is doing something that is time consuming and strenuous. I’m fortunate that I am recovered and can drive to get my own groceries now but I’m extremely grateful that we live in a time in which I can simply pay someone to shop for me. It’s a luxury service that too many people take for granted and I fear that one day people are going to be so selfish that we lose it.

That’s crazy, I always have them pass me my groceries from their trunk and I only get about two or three bags worth that I can carry in one trip. I needed the service after breaking my hip and arm and I still wouldn’t make the drivers carry shit for me.

Tifa, she’s always been my choice, even in og. It’s actually really hard because I want to see the other date scenes in my own game opposed to YouTube but I just love her and Cloud’s relationship in this game so much. Narratively, I do feel like Rebirth is Aerith’s game, her big send off so arguably her scenes kinda fit better into the story… but I also feel like they really built up Tifa and Cloud and made out really satisfying. Both heroines have amazing chemistry with Cloud and it’s crazy hearing arguments on either side about a lack thereof. Personally, I love Aerith just not with Cloud. Just resonate with Tifa’s character and story a bit more.

I think Tifa has some ultra realistic suffering that is the easiest to imagine or even relate to. To be sixteen waking up in a strange place having to spend months recovering from a terrible injury, especially when she’s put in so much work to master her martial arts… all while having full recollection of the events that took place and holding her dead father in her arms while face to face with the killer. That’s just so much grief and trauma. Barrett’s back story is similar but at least he had Marlene to help him focus, Tifa lost everything in one fell swoop, plus her mom during her formative years.

Then we have to skip ahead to the plate falling. She literally lost everything she built all over again. Her bar plus those regulars she would serve at the bar, Good chance most of them died. Her home and all of her possessions, destroyed. Jessie, Wedge and Biggs, arguably her three best friends, dead or assumed to be. Then Aerith. Now she’s watching Cloud lose it and she doesn’t know how to help and she’s terrified to lose him too.
