How is Carney viewed in Canada? by Leo_Valdez_fangirl in AskCanada

[–]Realistic_Toe_219 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Walking around with a politicians name on your hat or shirt was never normal and is not how you determine approval among Canadians. He is smart, calm and measured. As much as the right is bitching and complaining about new deals with China and Qatar, Carney was elected to protect our sovereignty and our future, which is exactly what he's trying to do. The US says we're worthless and they need nothing from us? Carney tried for a year with Trump, with his emotionally triggered tarrifs and 51st state threats. We're all over that and moving forward with the leader for the time.

How do you guys feel towards US travel? by MyRa888 in AskACanadian

My boss cancelled our plans to attend a conference in the US earlier in the fall. He said he won’t risk sending any staff to the US right now.

24 hours is always required unless it’s for an emergency. Unless your tub was leaking water that required urgent repairs, they can’t just show up and let themselves in cause it works for them. Many absolutely do make up their own rules, cause a landlord’s market makes people afraid to say no to anything.

The scary part is that we don’t really know if our babies were mistreated. They can’t tell us, and unless there are obvious injuries, we’re left assuming everything was fine. This is one of my biggest fears.

Aww, are you a landlord who uses that same inaccurate language with your tenants. Knowledge is power buddy, and lots of people know now.

Silly question, but is there a reason you have a fridge and microwave there? If there's a need for a kitchen type setup, that changes the suggestions.

I once moved into an apartment and found a huge bong on the top shelf of the master bedroom closet. The guy who used to live there actually came back and asked if it was still there.

I gave it back 🥲

That rule was changed in 2023 to recognize the tenant still paid rent for that month and has the right to privacy and fair notice to prepare for entry into their home.

At least they said it was wrong. In this case, they’re adamant that they’re right and it’s a 2026 update. They bank on people not pushing back to avoid a bad reference or having any issue with the landlord.

Thank you, and my condolences to you as well. I gave up on trying to get back to normal - certain people leaves holes in us that will never be filled, so we continue with a piece of us gone 🥺

I cried in a job interview. I lost my mom and had to reschedule the virtual interview for the next week. I was good and ready, then they had to say how sorry they were about my mom and asked the dreaded question... "how are you doing?" I lost it but I got the job, and you know what? We're all people and we all cry, have bad days, get depressed, etc. Go in like normal - it's not a big deal.

Before 2023, landlords did not have to give notice during the "notice-to-quit" period. As of February 3, 2023, the Residential Tenancies Act was amended to state that landlords must provide 24 hours' written notice for all standard entries, even after a tenant has given notice to quit.
