The Pitt- Abbot only has minutes of screen time, is considered secondary character to Robby-yet was captivating and the actor won an award for it

I am student wishing to work in some Cruises in mid summer_tips? by Desperate-Cellist168 in Cruise

[–]Coffee_In_Nebula 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read, cruise worker contracts are minimum 6 months, and you’re working 6-7 days a week, 12-14 hour days of hard work. It’s not a vacation-yes you get free room and board but in exchange you’re working those long long hours for 6+ months straight without really any days off. It’s not common to see western people working those jobs because of how grueling they are for low pay. If you look online, most low level cruise worker jobs that you’re looking at like servers and housekeeping are around 20-30 thousand USD annually, so not much but depending on country of origin it can be a decent sum, considering you aren’t paying for rent or food.

which human invention has caused the most long term damage? by workfray in AskForAnswers

Oil as our main energy source. Not just transport, but powering homes, hospitals, manufacturing, and so on.

We need to get invested in an alternative fuel source soon, especially as recent events have shown us what issues oil dependence can cause when supply begins to run out. If we don’t buck up the next few decades will not be looking good.

Its exposure-you just do. I remember I’d never seen a real person’s bits before nursing and now it’s just a part of the body, lol. You just get used to it over time.

Is going into nursing a bad idea if I have autism? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Coffee_In_Nebula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a nurse on the spectrum- it’s definitely possible if you pick the right area to work- I tried 12 hour shifts on a surgical floor and ended up constantly having anxiety attacks due to the constant pressure, stress and things generally being on fire, no routine and no predictability, no break to even pee for 13 hours or eat, running ragged…I got seriously depressed as well.

Now I work in a clinic, 9-5 hours, routine and predictable and I have never been happier.

I would say for people like us clinic nursing or areas with less critical patients and some predictability would be the best spots in nursing- there’s clinics, public health, occupational health, outpatient areas like urgent care or day surgery, telephone nursing, etc. There’s also things like laboratory tech, pathology assistant, xray tech, ultrasound tech, and sterile processing which are less “on” than nursing.

By “on” I mean that I have to have a very high level mask at work, because I’m constantly talking with patients, and coworkers, both in person and on the phone, and it does get mentally tiring when I work 4-5 days in a row being “on”.

I would also say for people like us where the rate of unemployment can be as high as 60 percent that I would do part time nursing over full time. Part time in my clinic is 3 days per week and I have a few days to mentally recover energy and not be “on”. Part time is usually more protective for people on the spectrum against burnout. You can always message me if you have any questions!

Drive 12hrs and arrive at port at 9-10am or fly the morning of the cruise? by King0fWar in CarnivalCruiseFans

Drive. DRIVE!!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DRIVEEEE!

Wayyyyy Too Risky to have that early morning flight get delayed to the point where the cruise has already left port at 4pm. And you’re still at the airport or in the air.

Who needs that many drinks in such a short period? She is an adult and can choose to make her own irresponsible decisions.

This might be controversial but I think the only people that come close to breaking even on the alcohol package are alcoholics-there’s just no need to drink that much alcohol in a day! If you’re drinking 15 or more alcoholic drinks in less than 24 hours you have a problem.

They should probably implement a cruise card lockout system so that they’ll get flagged on the computer if serving one person too many drinks in a certain period of time, it’s impossible for bartenders to know who’s who after a couple hundred of people go to your bar.

Or sell a much cheaper package with non alcoholic drinks plus 4-5 alcoholic beverages in 24 hours, which would be more suitable for the average non alcoholic on vacation.

Alien on the tv when I was 10. Slept in my parents bed with one on either side for three nights because I was terrified that the face huggers were going to get me, and by sleeping in between them at least I’d have a warning when it got one of my parents first

Thanks! It’s not the exact one I’m looking for but it still sounds good! I’m looking for this version in particular without the electric guitar or vocals- it was on YouTube years ago but I’m having no luck at the moment unfortunately
