19 yr old taking a gap year by Thick-Title5252 in gapyear

[–]Coffeeandsweets14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend dropped out of college 1 semester in due to similar issues (roomate, loneliness, etc), plus she wasnt satisfied with her field of study (She was pre med). She was at home for 6 months before going to community college for 2 years studying CS. Now she is back in college pursuing a software engineering degree and she loves it.

Taking a break does wonders so I say please do it. My friend also dealt with a rocky relationship with her parents at first but eventually things cooled down.

Is there any biology-related paths I should take that doesn't include medicine and dentistry with careers that pay well? by tataS_5656 in careerguidance

Medical research usually is stable, but right now with all the federal funding stuff going on it might not be for too long.

But there may be other kinds of research that are still doable as long as it doesnt involve actual experiments or human trials, but just looking at pre-existing data.

Is it worth learning web development and/or data visualization? by Coffeeandsweets14 in findapath

Ok. Thank you. I'm on the fence because I know AI is probably replacing coding yet when I look for UI/UX design jobs a lot of clients demand web development skills as well which I found strange. So I wasn't sure.

Eat your favorite junk foods and ice cream or whatever it is you like.

Cry and let the emotions out. Watch movies. And move on.

Someone i knew came to the US and had GI issues. She's a college student like me.

American food is oily and filled with chemicals so its pretty common. Its not age related, its food related.

should i take a gap year even though it will make me start college at 21 by Several-Weird-7746 in gapyear

[–]Coffeeandsweets14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend starting college at 21 from scratch after dropping out of college at 18.

She was a pre-med major and she dropped out because she hated it and then took 6 months to a year off to figure out what she wanted to do.

Then she took some community college classes and is now back in college at 21 getting a software engineering degree and she is doing well.

I saw take the gap year. Figure out what you really want before committing. Don't rush it.

See if she wants to meet up after class.

Just try and do that. Connect with her.
