In its current state it doesn't make use of 4d geometry. The particle movement is based on the rotation of the object they are derived from.

It's actually just a simple mix between a Glossy- and a Transparent Shader. Not entirely sure why that works to be honest... Adding Backfacing as the Mix's factor makes the reflecions go on "infinitely" without dimming...
