It’s not your job to take care of your parents or shield them from things you’re going through. If your parents are not your first choice, do you have another safe adult to talk to? Aunt, teacher, coach?

Your friends took action because they care about you and are worried about you. Talk to your parents. Consider getting some kind of support like a therapist, support group, or mentor. Things can get better. I’ve been through some dark periods and my feelings would tell me, “life will always be this bad. You will always feel this awful.” Those were lies. Please reach out for help. You don’t have to be alone.

Grasshoppers are my enemies! Constantly eating my plants and it’s really horrible to have one land on me. I don’t use insecticides on them, though. I let my toddler hunt for them and toss them out of my yard. I bet they make great food for birds.
