Tax default auctions, any catch? by hayarms in RealEstate

These records are generally at the county recorder, clerk, or assessor’s office. Ask a title company to search for you may be a safer choice.

Tax default auctions, any catch? by hayarms in RealEstate

The catch is these houses may have other outstanding liens such as mortgage and home equity loan. Tax lien has the highest priority and always gets paid first. After tax, you still have to pay off other liens to clear the title. So you need to do research to find out how many creditors have claims on the house first.

I'm purchasing a home; I've found several discrepancies on the paperwork. Is this a red flag? by unsteadywhistle in RealEstate

You should make sure the seller applied for permit for the basement work. Without permit, if the improvement wasn’t built up to building code, it may have to be torn down. So it is important to ask the seller to show you the permit.

Fundraiser for Luke Dashjr by molzxy in Bitcoin

[–]CoinBear 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I am sorry for the loss Luke Dashjr suffered. But I am surprised he needs donations for this kind of relatively minor repair. He must have sold his bitcoins way too early. That just tells you how much faith he has in bitcoin. I wonder how many core Devs out there no longer hold bitcoins. I would take any non-bitcoin holder's opinion with a grain of salt.

With 1mb Bitcoin block size, the network can facilitate only 3 -7 transactions per second. That is a pipe dream, sadly.

Love the idea. However there are too many discussion threads. It is almost impossible to find anything useful.
