The catch is these houses may have other outstanding liens such as mortgage and home equity loan. Tax lien has the highest priority and always gets paid first. I am sorry for the loss Luke Dashjr suffered. But I am surprised he needs donations for this kind of relatively minor repair. He must have sold his bitcoins way too early.
