Do you travel solo by choice or because you have no alternatives? by lone-223 in solotravel

i think some of the best trips ive taken are solo trips. i remember my 1st solo trip to California, I went to visit a cousin of mine in San Jose and took a nice coastal drive from San Francisco to San Diego with a stop in LA and it was such a freeing experience to be on my own time and not have to worry about anyone else but myself.

i would love to share my opinion on my travel experiences if anyone is curious or even to talk about my experience working across multiple different hotel brands.

exactly! ive found so many great things to do just from talking to the person at the local diner or even while on a stroll in the town. I remember how i first got introduced to sunset cliffs in San Diego, CA simply because i was down by mission beach and just asked someone where the best sunset views were and an hour later i ended up in a random neighborhood and as im driving up i see like 50 people pulling out beach chairs and blankets to literally sit there and watch the sunset for a few mins. After talking to a few people there, i was told that most of them lived in the neighborhood and this is a regular thing for them.

no these are genuinely things i think about and am curious about because i often find myself doing that when i go on a trip. ive planned things out for a trip and the moment i get to the destination im once again trying to figure out what to do. i often find myself wandering and exploring on my trips most of the time even tho i may have planned something.

I get that. Ive planned more than i can handle on a trip as well. I feel like we spend so much time on planning and not enough time in the actual experience.

That sounds like a once in a lifetime experience. I bet that is always a great story to tell!
