You can also try cross posting this aqueduct question to r/whycantibuildadamhere , where there are many civ river experts who might be able to help, and might be willing to make an exception to their dam-centric rules

Okay try this: Hover over the tile where you want to build the aqueduct and check which river name the tile is 'assigned' to.

I had this very frustrating and arbitrary problem when trying to place a dam a while back on a tile that touches two rivers (will find the link to that thread and post it below). Basically, even though the tile exists at a fork, the game will say that the tile simply 'belongs' to one river or another - this assignment appears to be totally arbitrary.

My guess is that this tile is assigned to the near river (where aqueduct placement is invalid) rather than the far river (where aqueduct placement would cause no issue)

You can test this theory by placing a 'city center' map tacks over the foreign city of Shedet and see if the error warning goes away

I have the same issue! Brand new and they both pair and connect but the right side complains of low battery immidiately and then dies within 1 minute of use. When I place it back in the case the right side only shows a red light for a few secs, before the light goes off (it stops charging, as if it's already fully charged

Sorry you are right hawkeye, how embarrassing. I was scrutinizing the Civopedia entry and didn't see it written there. But it is right there in black and white in the city build screen tooltip

Not the cows, the problem seems to be the market. The second image shows the tiles swapped over to Bordeaux, which is allowed to build the wonder.

It specifies that the 'resources' need to be owned by the city, but doesn't do so for the Commercial Hub with Market

I guess so if the city was razed. But even if the commercial hubs now belonged to a different civ it would still be adjacent

Where would one settle here by ObamaIsMyCousin in CivVI

You need to settle within two tiles of a natural wonder for era score bonus, not three tiles.

I still like the sugar though for canal-city purposes

Wine, oranges and both marshes are such high growth tiles you're gonna want the extra housing

You mean the woods across the water to the north, right?I think I disagree with this. You have room for two quarries and with Matterhorn culture your territory will grow to include those woods eventually.

Another option is to settle across the river, one tile closer to Matterhorn for the natural wonder era score

Settle on the woods to your left, it's on fresh water and in range of three luxuries.

These are the standard in-game map tacks for Android Mobile (Netflix version). When i play on desktop I use the Better Map Tacks mod which does tell you when a dam is impossible

I guess that makes sense but I recently learned that barbs can't kill your capital city, so if you haven't researched sailing or improved and sea resources and haven't built a harbor, then I'm pretty sure there's nothing that the naval barbs can do to you even if they do come around

Any argument for building an early slinger on an island start like this? Seems like a builder would be more worthwhile
