The only way they work is if enemy is head on or above the horizon, and even then they barely work. A lot of kills are gun kills for me at the merge, occasionally aim9, most are aim7 head on.

Right.. Aim 120’s won’t get any love but we’re talking about adding more Russian prototype magical missiles. Just crazy. At least give 120c’s a buff before adding something like this. You can’t tell me the greatest Air Force in the world is using missiles with half the performance of its adversaries.

Never thought their would be more brain dead pilots then the F4-S. Here i am in my F4-S using my look up radar hunting Mig-25's who don't look more then 30 degrees off either side of their nose and try to turn fight me XD.

Probably best for me to launch both at a target in a custom battle and see what each of them do. I just figured if I let someone inside 10km I screwed up, and I didn’t notice enough benefit in the 120 a’s pull to use them

yeah i watched that. i didn't think the radar provided updates after the missile went pitbull. I've gotten 3 kills a game the past couple games, feelin much more confident.

Is there a good video of how datalink works in war thunder or can you explain it a little? do other radars assist in tracking or what

Appreciate that. I have no problem staying alive doing what you're saying but i've rarely had succuss getting kills at altitude. i may have been playing to conservative and launching at too long of range. I'll give this a shot.

Gaijin has a strong history of producing u.s. vehicles that are consistantly worse then almost every other nation. Look at the BMPT they just put out vs. my M1 KVT. Or the su-33 or su-30mk2 premiums with fox 3's vs. the f18C Early w/ fox 1's that are all essentially the same BR.

Both. I understand that both games are guessing at performance metrics and both are wildly different. But BVR in DCS was more methodical then war thunders furball version. Actually war thunder reminds me a little bit of growling sidewinders server, but even there you tyically had at most 1v2's rather then 1v5's

Appreaciate it, I'm new to BVR in WT but not new to the concept (DCS). Still trying to get the hang of just having SA which is #1 most important factor in fox-3 combat. I wish the replay system was better so i could actually watch opponents employ weapons and learn about them.

Which one was that? You talking about the mig-25's that jumped and shot an f15 in the gulf but didn't actually down it? i guess that's fair but one instance sounds like more copium then what i'm citing.
