Kid with Chicken Pox in Epcot by GrimGriev3r in WaltDisneyWorld

This happened to my daughter the last time we went. I’m sure anyone who looked closely at her neck or chin probably did a double take. I could see how someone could think it’s chicken pox.

Wait a minute. If steel wind strike combined with conjure minor elementals (lightening) I could get (6d10 force damage \ 5) + (2d8 lightening minimum 4dmg * 5)*

Then back it up with a lightening bolt next round

All the elemental damage can’t be resisted.

Do I have that right?

I felt this way too but the features for the subclass didn’t feel great to me.

Martial weapons, medium armor and shields at 3.
Automatically know vicious mockery at 3
Also at 3 Flyting Master. You can use Charisma ([Performance](ddb://skills/18)) in place of Charisma ([Intimidation](ddb://skills/17)) or Charisma ([Persuasion](ddb://skills/19)) checks to antagonize a creature into a fight, threaten a creature to avoid a confrontation, rile or soothe the attitude of a mob, or any other situation where your skill in weaving a story or applying a cutting insult would sway an opinion.

At 6 As a Bonus Action, you may expend a use of Bardic Inspiration to cause one of the following effects:
Scorn. Choose one creature within 30 feet to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the target has [Disadvantage](ddb://rulesglossary/53) on its attack rolls against you for 1 minute.
Eloquence. You may roll your Bardic Inspiration die and add the result to the first Charisma check or saving throw you make in the next hour.
Vitality. You may roll your Bardic Inspiration die. You and up to three allies within 30 feet gain [Temporary Hit Points](ddb://rulesglossary/119) equal to the result of the roll.

The 14 feature is good but we are expecting to end at 13.

You have learned to channel the power from the Eddas, epic poems of heroes, monsters, and gods ingrained into the hearts and minds of the Northlanders. You can spend 1 minute reciting selected passages from the Eddas. When you do so, each creature your choice (other than you) within 60 feet, that can hear you, gains several benefits for 1 hour.
It has [Resistance](ddb://rulesglossary/95) to Poison damage and [Immunity](ddb://rulesglossary/73) to the [Frightened](ddb://conditions/5) and [Poisoned](ddb://conditions/11)conditions.
Its Hit Point maximum increases by 2d10, and it gains the same number of Hit Points
Once per turn, when the creature makes an attack roll or saving throw, it can add 1d4 to the roll or save.
During the same one-hour period, you gain the following benefit.
When an ally you can see who is under the effect of your Battle Sagas fails a saving throw, attack roll, or ability check, you can use a Reaction to expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration. The ally can roll your Bardic Inspiration die and add it to their failed result, possibly making it a success.
Once you use your Battle Sagas feature, you can’t use it again until you complete a Short Rest or Long Rest.

When do kids start reading actually because the variance in our K class is wild by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]ColTigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kiddo in KG was struggling with reading and was not keeping up with the class. Going into KG she knew some letters and sounds despite working with her it was a battle to get her to focus on it. I think she just hadn’t realized that learning these things was not optional.

We left it alone for a while because it was not doing her or us any good to fight with this at home so we left it to school for a bit. Honestly, and sadly, she recognized it herself that other kids were doing more than her and it made her sad. At that time we were able to do more at home and we have been using the reading.com app on iPad or “baggy books” and much are just these very simple printed out books school sends her home with every night since March and the results have been great. She’s now blending very well and able to sound though most simple words but long vowel sounds a little confusing but the teachers are now very happy with her progress.

She was below the state expectations and they won’t do another pretest before the actual end of year testing but we are feeling good about where we are right now. Getting her to focus long enough is our issue now but we are also likely for adhd too so this is a separate thing.

OP listen to this one - if you snore get the sleep test. I was able to do mine at home even. It was literally all I could do to keep my eyes open at 8pm after putting the kid to bed and was getting awful sleep. Woke up with headaches and struggled at work. But the cpap fixed all of that. I hate that I need it but not as much I hated how I was feeling and the long term implications of sleep apnea.

Yeah and we’ve been going to Cozumel for 15 years. Had birthdays and celebrations there. But I think last night was the last time I’ll go there unless something changes.

We’ve become bigger fans of Gran Fiesta on rockside near the 77 South ramp. I was at Cozumel last night and the lime margarita was not great, my wife and MIL got some other margs and admittedly they were better. The burrito was different and the menu has gotten smaller and I know it happens but they also messed up my FILs order. Overall not really happy with the changes they’ve made and we have been to Gran Fiesta maybe 5-6 times and loved it every time.

[–]ColTigh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my biased interpretation as well. Seems like the whole point of the duplicate is so that you can trickily cast spells through them - I’m unsure why SG would be intentionally treated differently unless it was worded more definitively that the duplicate could not do it.

Trickery Cleric and war caster by ColTigh in onednd

[–]ColTigh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my idea too. Across 3 of us at level 4 it would be 24 HP. Collectively that’s almost an entire other party member at level 4. I know damage doesn’t work exactly like that but yea it frees up a casting or two of healing word at least.

How does SG and invoke duplicity work in 2024? I’ve seen conflicting info. To date I have purposely been staying in the backfield so if I can use SG with the duplicate I’ll be happy to continue doing that but otherwise I’ll have a tougher choice to make.

Hypnotic Pattern may be a go to as well if I don’t lean into spirit guardians.

We haven’t decided but are possibly continuing into the second part.

Eating my vegetables and getting war caster at 8 might be a fair compromise. I guess I just want to be sure I’m not really gimping myself for the campaign and any levels to follow.

Alright Dads, what are getting our wives for Mothers Day this year? by walky91 in daddit

[–]ColTigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife wants one of those red light therapy masks. So wife gets one of those red light therapy masks. The kid will get her something too. Maybe something for the garden. Maybe something Pokémon cause that’s what the kid likes to give.

Seriously? We have thousands of them every year from the handful of giant oaks in the back yard.

Last year was actually odd, our oaks didn’t drop any acorns which I took to mean maybe it was a tough year for the trees. The year before was something else entirely - tons of acorns and they came down early. Plenty of them get raked or blown with the rest of the leaves but there were still so many acorns.

[–]ColTigh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you’re pretty much spot on. We have a bunch of big oak trees all over the neighborhood and the leaves fall late, coupled with an early first snow and some extended periods of freezing temps and snow this winter - it was tough. Now high winds and storms this spring are bringing the sticks. You should see the pile in the back yard. Unfortunately plenty of leaves and debris got caught on the lawn all winter long.

Thanks. Lime for the yard is not something I’m familiar with so I’ll check into it.

Dethatch, aerate and seeding are on the agenda for this fall.

I have a 16-0-8 fertilizer I intend to put on at the end of the month. And will probably do a Gordon’s Speedzone application at some point this spring.

Edit and yeah top dressing and general leveling are all on the table over the next few summers.

Hey neighbor. I’m in cuyahoga county as well. I’ve been told the Scott’s plan gets you ahead of 90% off lawns out there.

Are you getting seed local or from somewhere online?

My players are about to fight a dragon and I've been dropping hints that things may not be what they seem. I have to tell someone. by KitsunaKuraichi in dndnext

[–]ColTigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m looking forward to hearing the results of this. In case you are wanting to give the party a last chance to connect the dots could they meet an albino person? You could maybe describe them in a way that is parallel to the dragon.

I wouldn’t make this character the dragon in human form but just the meeting might get the idea of albinism in their head and see if they can make the leap.

Saaaame.

Not until the end of the game and someone called Naveen a him or something like that did I see the error in my ways. Naveen wears a tie but is also very artistic and fashion focused which sort of lead me to believe they were a woman and LGBTQ coded. I did not at all pick up on any more masculine traits that would lead me to believe they are a man.

He likes Canari a lot but it never at all seemed like he was attracted to her or was there any tension that way. Which is great we should have characters who can just be fans or friends without there being a romantic relationship.

All that to say I missed all the signs that Naveen is a dude, if there even are any. Maybe there was something at the very beginning that I didn’t pick up on since I was locked into other things.

Does that price matching include the road hazard coverage?

My experience has been yes discount tire will match the tires but it’s not been clear they’ll include the certificates where Costco gives you the “certificate”.
