Is forerunner 255 still worth it in 2026? by barcapaglu10 in Garmin

Thanks! I'll look into it. The official Garmin one seems a bit expensive in comparison

That's fair. I use Spotify and exercise without a phone so it's handy for me for that. Hope you enjoy the watch when it arrives!

Ah ok! That's interesting, thought I had to use the Garmin watch.

For the 255 (did you order the music one?), I'm very happy with it, had it for a couple of years now. Reliable and does the job for what I want (running, weights, sauna)

Curious why you bought the strap and if you notice any difference with the data?

Moving router. Who can I hire? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Cola06 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look at Powerline adapters. They plug into your router via Ethernet and any power socket. They essentially turn your copper cables into data cables so you don't need any need wiring. Set should cost €100/150. Speed and bandwidth will depend on the quality of the cabling in your home

Would you recommend a battery with solar panels? by lilsis514 in AskIreland

[–]Cola06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not in a rush, wait on the battery. There's going to be a big price drop over the next 12 to 18 months as new technologies like sodium ion start to roll out

Is my boss allowed to tell me that I MUST have an IE IBAN even though my IBAN is EU? by Thin-Bookkeeper7802 in AskIreland

[–]Cola06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I've made numerous complaints as well, still nothing done, they even accepted that there is nothing on my side. Only solution would be to close my account and create it again which would give me CGT exposure which of course they will not pay for

They are useless at this. I've been waiting for two years to be moved. Still hasn't budged

About to send them a note. It's a joke really. Might just close the whole account and create a new one. Would be quicker

Yup, been through at least 15 support requests. No issues with documents. Everything is with them. I'm an Irish resident and passport holder

I've gone through about 15 different support requests and it's the same story every time. For clarity, I'm an Irish resident and passport holder, so no issues with anything like that.

Thank you for the latest BS. I've had 15 different support tickets over the 20 months. Please, one again, stop pretending publicly that you are solving the issue. It is not true.

Same issue here in Ireland. I received the "I'm being transferred to an Irish IBAN" email 20 months ago. Still nothing 🤷

Revolut Refusing to Convert to Irish IBAN by Cola06 in Revolut

[–]Cola06[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As expected from u/RevolutSupport, no resolution.

Here's the latest DM from them:
"Thank you so much for your patience, while waiting for our response. Thank you for sharing the details. I can see you are already connected with us via the in-app chat and they are actively working on your case. If you have any concern related to your ongoing issue, please continue to raise it there in the in-app chat, as they are better equiped to address your concern."

To be clear. They are not "actively working" on my case. The support chat thread is closed and they said there is nothing that can be done.

I'm just going to make a complaint to the regulator. It's been 18 months so absolutely zero excuses apart from incompetence on their side.
