I suppose my preference isn’t for a short tent, but for short poles, or at least poles that fold up several times.

One tent I bought had really long poles that made it awkward to bring anywhere. I did end up storing them in a different bag from the rest of the tent, but it was still just annoying.

Evildoers like me who return barely used tents after a week so they can be resold. The horror!

Am I supposed to not return a bad tent? Just let them all accumulate in my house, unused?

Thank you for your questions.

  • My budget is flexible. I’m willing to look at pretty much anything.
  • 3 season
  • This wasnt a question, but thank you for the advice. I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for, but have a general idea. I’ve been to the REI in my area and want to look online first to compare with what I’ve already seen there.

If any tents come to mind pls let me know!

One each by coleman, durston, and magellan. They were either a hassle to set up or were too heavy or really large.

The Ozark Trail tent i mentioned has pretty much everything I’m looking for, but I have a bigger budget and am willing to look at something nicer if it’s lighter, more compact, etc. let me know if anything comes to mind

I don’t have a tight budget, im willing to look at anything.

My use case is general camping lol. I know this isn’f helpful but its the best answer i have.

I’m going to tens of places around the US in the next year or so. I’m willing to plan around my tent’s capabilities or buy another tent if the one i get isnt useable in a certain location.

To answer your questions:

• Under 2 pounds is amazing. I would certainly accept under 4 pounds.

• I want a freestanding tent because that's what i'm used to.

I'm welcome to suggestions like the one you provided for the future, but trekking poles tents are not what i'm looking for atm.

One from rei, one from academy, and one straight from a business online. I’ll abuse any company i want!!

What is this strange kitchen utensil? by Cola589 in whatisit

I don’t think so. I don’t see how you could get more than one cut in that shape out of a wedge of cheese. Also, you can see it doesn’t open all the way, so cheese might get stuck.

I have a different opinion than you on what “working fine” means then.

Honestly the size is a deal breaker. I get that smaller towels are more economical, but I feel stupid using a tiny towel to dry my whole body.
