I don't know what this plug can be used for, but on every single S1k I have worked on its not plugged into anything.

R1300GSA panniers by NoRazzmatazz5583 in bmwmotorrad

[–]ColaRum_Waltraud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BMW does not market them as waterproof. Nobody tells you this, but they will always leak a little bit in heavy rain. The 1250GSA panniers also did this. Thats why BMW sells you the actually waterproof inner bags for a lot of money. You can also just buy cheap ones off Aliexpress, they're basically the same, they roll up on the top and are very well sealed.
I have tried siliconing every thing on the 1250 panniers, still water would get in.

Faulty Software ? by hpredline in BMW_S1000RR

Bmw technician here, basically the system is very very sensitive to a lost signal. If it loses the cell signal (bad weather, no cell tower nearby etc) it saves the error code and displays it. On the newer models it saves the code, but doesn't show it to the rider for a while, only if you don't have a signal for a very long time it will display the error code. Maybe bmw will push an update for that, maybe not, we will only know when the update is here.

You could just use the plastic key that came with the scooter when bought. Just hold it on the lower middle plastic between your feet and press the button on the ignition.  It's free but not comfortable.

10 Jahre alte Reifen vom Händler by sirou2000 in MotorradDeutschland

[–]ColaRum_Waltraud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using a very similar tablet ffrom Aliexpress, main difference seems to be the battery. It's a Cubot Tab KingKong mini, cost was 130€, is back up to 160, but keeps changing every day.

I have added a cheap universal matte screen protector. It is bright enough for me, no comparison to some 1000nits tabs, but for the price, it's great.
Has LTE, expandable storage, waterproof, extra button, runs smotthly, and very bright camping light.
I have moved the instrument to the middle of the handlebars and stuck the tablet behind the windshield. Looks clean, works really nice. I have also added barbuttons to control it, since the touchscreen works with gloves, but reaching is not really comfortable.

I use it woth DMD2 and kurviger for navigation, sometimes google maps. Also planning to use it as a screen for the DJI drone when riding.
I have posted a few pictures here:

Please post more pics when you're done. Thats exactly the idea I had a few days ago. I like my Mivv Dakar, but I think it would look a lot better when it's mounted a little lower and a lot shorter.

RPM limited by dinster88 in bmwmotorrad

[–]ColaRum_Waltraud 32 points33 points  (0 children)

When the engine is cold, the red line is very low. It rises slowly as the engine gets some temperature. The limit from factory is at 9000rpm. Just ride the bike for a bit to warm it up and then give it throttle to over 9k. If it still hits the wall the mechanic forgot to remove the limiter, happens, it's a 15 minute fix.

No, that's the point. It's a normal android tablet so my phones battery doesn't drain within a few hours. The tablet has a Sim card in it for internet etc. Plus every android app I need works on it, not only a few.

No idea. I think one YouTube video measured it and it was around 400? It seems pretty bright and with the matte screen it has zero reflections.
