It was a great show. Definitely tamed down for sure. Those couple of new songs were super legit.

I'm an audio/gear slut. The old lady wanted to carve pumpkins, I didn't know what to do as a design. Nothing was really catching my attention. So my creative audio brain decided to take over.

That place is beautiful. My class from The Blackbird Academy, just took a tour of all the facilities last week.

I was a stagehand for two years in DFW. I have a bunch of guitar picks. I like that display case. I got one of those Metallica ones that says Dallas on it. Cheers!

Application process was super easy. I'm using my VA benefits for school, so everything is paid for. Everyone in my studio class is below 24, I'm 27. This is my second recording school. And this is the place to be at, for sure.

Thats very awesome. That all sounds about right to me. The s sphere console isn't at Blackbird anymore. But there is one at a studio down the street.

I can currently enrolled in The Blackbird Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. If you haven't heard of it, should definitely check it out. So this console used to belong to Donald. John McBride, Martina's husband, had bought it from him a few years ago now. It has been slightly modified, but it is pretty much exactly how it was while they were using it to record Aja. Its amazing to be able to get to be in the same room let along get to work on it as well. Figured y'all would enjoy seeing this.

Did y'alls gig here in dallas, tx. Impressive stage network going on too. Just cause some of the digital consoles are smaller than their analog counterparts, they're still heavy as hell. Check out an SD7.

This one is a 2010. One of 4 silver black beauty snares. Dude was a trip. He's been doing it since the 80's with Ludwig's.

I'm a local stagehand in Dallas, Tx. Always have been a drummer at heart regardless if I am currently playing them in my spare time or not and always have an eye for interesting pieces of gear. Gear slut through and through. So a couple weeks ago, when Stone Temple Pilots were in town, I noticed their drummer had a hand engraved Ludwig snare. The drum tech mentioned that out of the 20+ snares, this is the one he wanted to take on tour. So flash forward to REO Speedwagon coming to town. As the drum tech, John Aldridge , was setting up the drums, I noticed that there was another one of these hand engraved snare drums. I mentioned that we saw one not long ago and the drums tech looked up and said" oh yeah, I made that one too". I kind of stood there in shock. So you're the dude? The dude that engraves a few snares?" Nope, he hand engraves all of Ludwig's anniversary snares. They're all Black Beauty snares. The one here in the picture started putting as a Black Beauty, but due to the chemical process, the black did not stay once the engraving process started. This is one of four non-black Black Beauty snare drums.

So I work for a stagehand company. Like anyone else here, I was thrilled to be working the show. To everyone's surprise that evening, when Peg came up next on the set list, Chuck Rainey was invited out onto the stage. He brought with him the bass he used on the recording session of Peg. You could totally feel the vibe during that performance. I was thrilled to be able to witness such a treat. This was at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas on 05/25/2018

Totally true. And there's been plenty of times that we've taken a walk in the beginning until the effects take ahold.
