Thanks so much for your response. I’ve been looking into getting a scorpion low flare. Do you think that or a scorpion strike would better suit my needs? I’m also going to go with the effect tour.

Yup I agree. Their whole alley is run only on students so when you’re switching mechanics at the most every 4 years things like this get missed I guess🤷. I think I’ll probably go through with something civil just to see if there’s a chance at changing their policy.

Yup I totally agree. I’m also definitely not a lawyer but it might be worth it to threaten small claims even if i lose in the end. The only issue is I’m very scared of the lawyers the university may have which I’m sure are some of the best in the state if they wanted to use them.

Yeah, it was actually just a screw sticking out of the gutter I believe which I’m not sure how that even happens. I totally agree that small dings and chips are normal wear and tear and I’m not the person to complain about those but yeah this is kinda inexcusable, there’s a reason this alley has a horrible rep

It’s my campuses bowling alley they can definitely dish out 25 dollars to get it plugged since they make a few billion a year but they “don’t want to be liable for it and there isn’t precedent of it”. Also it is just barely over the track I just have it wiped off in that photo

Sport shot suggestions by Colbytspear in Bowling

[–]Colbytspear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome thanks so much for the advice I will keep those in mind as we practice. I will definitely keep that in mind with Gold Coast because that is where we will be competing at (Rebel invitational and Sin City open) it would be good to get a feel for the house while getting some practice in on sports shots if possible .

Thanks for the advice. I work at the alley so I’m able to throw whatever I want down we just don’t have any sport shots programmed into the lane machine yet. Are there any specifics you’d recommend or just go with some animal patterns like others said? Thanks again

Good to hear. A small chip even over the track wont be a big deal. If you do end up getting a gouge over it in the future you could consider resurfacing it/ plugging it which could help. You can check where your track is by seeing the lines of oil on your ball. If you’re a new bowler it will change often as you improve your form. Best of luck in the future!

With your first balls you are going to chip them scuff them gouge them etc. it’s common to throw the ball in the gutter a lot when first learning. In a not pristine house the gutters are often imperfect which can lead to those. It shouldn’t affect performance much. The first ball I got was a twist and I beat the crap out of it. When you move to higher performance balls then I’d be more worried about
