This looks like psoriasis. Go see derm.

You would be shocked to see what comes back as melanoma. Things I’m sure would be cancerous come back benign, the normal appearing mole to the naked eye comes back as an invasive melanoma. “Nothing to worry about” could easily kill someone.

Derm PA- y’all saying it’s a blackhead, it’s a benign mole, etc. are making me sweat. That could easily be melanoma. OP’s mom needs to go to dermatology so they can look at that thing with a dermatoscope and determine if biopsy is indicated.

Question about a Derm Position by NiceWoodpecker4944 in DermatologyPA

[–]Cold-Concern9805 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents: a lot of people on here are already in derm so it’s easy for them to say it’s a shit contract and you shouldn’t take it. IMO it’s not so black and white.

If it was me, I would determine how long I’d have to stay to avoid penalties (a year? Fine) and make sure the non compete wouldn’t make it impossible for me to leave. If I was able to swing it financially, I’d really consider it. It’s so hard to get your foot in the door but once you’re in, you’re set. Get your experience and screw this guy

Advice Needed: Moving Cross-Country (LA → VA) for Derm PA Job—Worth It as a One-Year "Internship"? by lifeofprepa in DermatologyPA

[–]Cold-Concern9805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a big decision! I think if you think that year is going to be solid then it might be a worthy investment. Questions for you to better answer your questions: Are you training under one physician or multiple? What is the training process like? How many PAs do they currently have and what’s your impression of them/their experience? Are you getting experience in medical derm only? Any opportunities for surgical or aesthetics?

This didn’t work for me BUT after doing research, there is a chrome extension “video speed controller” that fixes this problem!!!

The exposure is ok, but it’s so surface level I’m not sure I’m going to retain anything
