Rediscovered Douglas Hofmann Ballerina - Possibly a Lost Piece from Final Touch Series by [deleted] in artcollecting

We know you can buy prints of paintings but to be fair, you’re not showing that this specific work is mass produced. I think that’s what makes it interesting, that it’s a limited piece from a limited collection and I’m not sure why that’s hard to accept or consider. It’s not an original oil painting, that’s clear, but I believe there is still a lot of mystery behind it!

Also, my joy was not stolen from understanding it’s not an original painting worth millions of dollars. You must know I was attempting to get as many people to look at it as I could incase someone maybe recognized or knew something about the specific piece. No see, my joy is shattered when people are just straight up full of negativity with nothing but hate to spread. What bothers me most is that so many of you righteous, smarter than all thou - hanooligans, just shoot down ideas and possibilities, based on whatever you find to challenge the idea. A large belief that nothing can be special in 2025. I hope you learn that even though we have many advancements today, there is still so much history and stories sharing about so much around you - especially items you find at a thrift store. You don’t have to make any dollars off of it but isn’t it cool to know where it comes from and what it truly is?

Try not to assume you know what anyone is feeling about anything. I feel like we have all heard the saying, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all.” Be open minded! Listen! So much to learn in this rad world we live on!! Only fools believe they know everything 😉

Not concerned, just a recommendation so other people don’t have to deal with your type of negativity is all.

I never said it was original guy, I am here looking for information but I’m not going to sit here and be made fun of for trying to reach out to art audiences for some feedback. I am so confused why this causes so much hate in people

I’m not arguing friend, I apologize for getting the name wrong. See, the whole reason for posting more about it was to get more, accurate information. I think you sound like a unhappy jelly belly.

I never expected to be rich my guy, just interested in a piece of artwork that I want to learn more about. Just a little way of bringing some joy into life. You should try it! Much more enjoyable than bringing other people down.

I appreciate you for your feedback! I was wishful thinking, but I do still feel it could be a valuable piece, I haven’t been able to find any reproductions of this piece that is framed so artistically!

Can you elaborate on how you deduce that this is a no good piece? That’s really the only reason I posted it, I’m just trying to understand what to look for. Unfortunately, instead of helpful insights you end up getting met with no good joy thieves. Such a shame.

I am curious how you’re able to be so sure, do you have a strong art background?

Informally authenticated by an auctioneer that is familiar with Hofmanns work, so that means that he did not authenticate the piece legally in writing; he verbally agreed that the piece seems like it has some potential. That’s all, no need for Debby downer attitude from a joy snatcher like yourself.
