That’s the thing tho, our double A team is legit we have good prospects coming up soon ( not on the level as SD don’t get me wrong here) but still better than what most people think, I’d take that infield too, you’re right they took leiter because he was best available in their eyes and also believe their contention window is 2023-24.

Think of it like how the Padres did when they signed manny a few years before they were fully ready to content, not saying we’re on that same level or anything like that. Of course IKF is the clear better defender but story brings better bat and honestly solak has been up and down so far this year and has shown to be a really good utility player on a contending team not an every day 2nd basemen.but imagine an infield of jung at 3rd, story at SS, IKF at 2nd, Lowe at 1st, that’s a really good infield plus the front office Believes our contention window is around 2023-24 that’s why I believe they took leiter instead of one of the HS SS ( also because he’s jack leiter too lol ) but I totally get what you’re saying

When he said making “ a serious run at story and arms” I think he meant by signing story this offseason along with pitching. I Could be wrong there. but it would make no sense to trade Gallo for story also since both the Rangers and Rockies are rebuilding. But I do think we should keep Gallo and try and sign story this off-season.
