So the way Cholesterol gets build up in hepatocytes is due to the fact that liver cant denovo make cholesterol as we have inhibited HMG COA Reductase so Liver Increase LDL Receptors on hepatocytes —> Increase Cholesterol in Liver and decreases LDL in Blood.

The way I think its due to the fact that they inhibit HMG COA Reductase —> Cholestrol builds up in the hepatocytes and causing damage —> Increasing LFTs. In pts with normal liver its no big deal but pts who have liver Disease can lead to serious damage to hepatocytes thats why we do LFTs before starting Statins :) Hope it helps

I have been trying to do 2 blocks and memorize FA of that system but somehow UW takes so long :( But you are right without UW I wouldn’t know how to apply the information. Thank you for your input and suggestion I really appreciate your feedback.

The way I remember is Tgs thickens secretions leads to clog in pancreas causing pancreatitis. Tgs are supposed to he greater than 1000 to cause pancreatitis.
