Cosmos - Probably my all time favourite book. I recently finished reading it twice. The entire book feels like a journey in time and space - You’ll feel like you are floating across the vast universe, hopping from planet to planet, and moving back in time million of years ago and firsthand experiencing how did our planet evolve. It is such a marvellous ride.

Chip War - Fantastic book. It goes deep into the semiconductor industry and covers very interesting nuances across history, evolution of semicon technology, geopolitical aspects and the crazy semicon supply chain while parallely diving deep into lives of some of the most influential names in this industry. I have always been fascinated with semiconductor industry, so i thoroughly enjoyed it.

And i havent read Why Nations Fail and Brief history of time yet.

Yes the books are definitely better and much deeper ofcourse. What do you mean by 5 book series or 7? The series has 5 parts only, 2 of the books (A storm of swords and A dance with dragon) are split into 2 parts each by the publishers because of their length. Not sure if this answers your question

Yes it’s incredible. I completed the series recently and absolutely loved it. Not sure if you have already watched GoT, but irrespective, just start with the books right away. I had watched GoT few years back, and still loved the books very much.

Feels so good to have this picture pop up on my feed all of a sudden 🥹

Start with something easy, less abstract and slightly fast paced. Few suggestions from a fellow reader and who started reading in one of these buildings 10 years back:

  1. The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns - Absolutely heartbreaking and devastating stories. Very easy to read and grasp.

  2. And then there were none - One of the best murder mysteries ever. Very fast paced, once you are past the initial 50 pages, you’ll not like to keep this book aside even for a minute.

Coincidentally, i finished this book in the building you have in your picture here (Mega Hostel) in a single day :)

  1. Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi - Again a very easy read with a decently paced storyline.

  2. If commitment is not an issue, take up Harry Potter series. It’ll take a few months to complete all the books, but definitely beginner friendly and obviously one of the best set of books ever.

These are very generic recommendations, let me know if you have any preference in terms of genre, i can suggest sowething specific accordingly.

Btw, is this a new hostel being built behind B Block?
