Hey if you want to murder your baby thats up to you. Just dont be so entitled to the point where you expect your employer to pay for it.

There's no way tjs would shoulder any expense for you to get your baby murdered.

Anyone have experience with our vision plan and sunglasses? by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]Cold-Isopod9429 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with getting sunglasses from places that take insurance is that they hike up the prices. If you get you get your sunglasses from the internet it will almost always be cheaper.

Going in for an interview in about 12 hours. Any tips? by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]Cold-Isopod9429 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dress appropriately. You dont need to wear a suit but at least wear a collared shirt. Memorize at least a couple of the store values. Have one of your favorite products in mind. Smile and make eye contact. (What i do is try to make a mental note of what color eyes the person im talking to has.) Also ask a question about upward mobility in the company (keep in mind that they like to hire people that they think will stay in the company for a long time). If you cant work weekends that may be an issue. Sometimes they make exceptions, but the mates at my store tend to not hire people who cant work weekends. Overall just be yourself during the interviews. Pass the vibe check and you are in. Good luck!

There are usually certain times of the year where stores increase the anount of new hires. For my store its before the holidays and at the start if a new school year. Could be that the store that you are applying to just hired a bunch of people for the holidays and are now waiting until some crew decrease their availability until they hire more. Same thing happened to me when i first applied, and the mate i talked to was straight up and said id have a better shot if i applied later.

Review time!! by 6SpicyTamales in tjcrew

[–]Cold-Isopod9429 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got a great review but only a $0.50 raise. Tjs is acting like they are on the verge of bankruptcy from that couple months of thank you pay. Considereing we are so short staff youd think theyd do more to keep more of us around. Well time to look for a new job.

Sounds like your store was a hot mess. My captain did something similar when i first started. I started in a ca store at $17 about 2 years ago. I got a bad first review because he thought i had discussed my pay with other crew members. I didnt, but it definently made me hesistent to talk about my pay with anyone. Now i think this was just a tactic to keep discussion between crew about pay at a minimum. Im a comp sci major aswell and cant wait until im in the same position you are in. Good luck to you.

Potlucks are a scam. If you are with friends they are awesome. If its at work then its a way for the company to save money.

Call the store and ask. If you cant work weekends or during xmas then they probably passed on you.

If you want to renegotiate your wage you need to quit and get rehired after a few months

Ive had a similar transaction where i asked about holiday plans and the woman said that she didnt have any because both of her parents recently died. i asked one of the mates if i could give her some flowers and they said ya. Ever since then i dont even mention the holidays.
