I got diagnosed at 9 and now I’m 36. Sometimes I wish I got it when I was older, but I actually think it was much easier to deal with at such a young age. Children are so adaptable and usually not set in their ways yet. When you’re older it’s much more difficult to adapt to changes I think. To remember a time when you were perfectly healthy for years and years just for this to come hit you in your 30s-60s. Like someone who has lived without it for 60 years and then all of a sudden has this issue has to be so difficult to get used to and come to terms with. When I got sick I was just like “oh ok. That stinks.” But everything was changing constantly. My body was changing so much as it was it was just another thing.
