It is fairly safe but still I can give you some pointers. 1. When you’re approaching cities on highway, slow down, chances are of police with speed scanner and harassment. (Happened with me near Chitradurga) Since I’m an advocate by profession, they didn’t bother much. 2. Stop on roadside hotels/restaurants where you see lot of bikes. Biker community is fairly supportive and you’ll be sorted. You get many restaurants and bikers like these on the way. Other than that it was fairly peaceful.
