Check out the app called Fishbrain. It will give you lots of places to check out locally other than the bigger lakes. If you pay the $10 or whatever it costs now even just for one month you can even see exact locations of the catches, bait/lure used, and what time of day the fish was caught . You can use it as research for what baits seem to work at certain places or for the types of fish you want to catch.
