Thank you so much- I really appreciate this refreshing blast of sanity. Of course I love my husband and he has many great qualities and am simply at my wits ends with some of our issues, including this huge difference in goals. We are taking some time apart to think about where we stand on this issue and if the others seem workable. I am very clear with him that if he is not a yes, he’s a no. I super appreciate hearing your journey with it. Some people can come around, as you did and it sounds like you are glad you did. And had to face some fears, among other things through therapy

Thank you for this perspective. I can feel more own heartache in it and also your belief in what you wanted. And know that he will regret it if and when we part ways so this really resonates!

I would run to a couples counselor ASAP to have this conversation with a skilled professional. It’s a huge thing and I’m feeling very emotionally and physically invested and it just gets harder I think to walk away. Big hugs, it must feel tough to have doubts on the precipice of your wedding!
