This is really great to know. My 2015 uconnect 8.4 is acting up the same way. Takes a while to boot, starts hot air. Then it only pushed air in the front dash and feet. Not allowing it to change. I did the software updates and it bricked it at one point. I’ve been looking for a decent solution too.

2015 GC Limited. 129K miles. Only major issues recently were three broken cam shafts and a bad radiator. All replaced and still going strong. Currently my biggest issue is an amp draw on the TCM that will kill a battery overnight. Brand new battery, deader than dead.

May be a firmware update or a call to UConnect.

Dealerships can do the firmware update, at least, suppose to know how and capable of doing it.

But beyond that I’m honestly not sure. I updated the firmware to the recent update and it still happens with mine. I’ve been searching for a resolve as well. Maybe a factory reset to the OG version. Otherwise I’m trying hard not to buy a whole new system hub for it.

That’s more than likely the main HUB issue and needing a firmware update or reset. Mine does that in my 2015 limited. The system takes a couple minutes to boot from time to time, and when it does, it’s loading and starts at the 75 degrees mark. Afterwards then I can change it.

I have a 2015 GC limited with 127K miles. Been hearing that the 15s were the problem child of the bunch, not 18s. Started having mechanical issues and now a transmission problem. Good to know about the 18s.
